A fresh coat over a poorly prepared deck seals in moisture and the stain will peel within months. Empire Painting strips old coatings where needed, sands the timber to open the grain, treats any grey weathering, and applies a penetrating oil-based stain or solid colour in multiple coats — each rubbed back before the next goes on.

Stairs get the same preparation with added attention to the nosing and risers — the highest-traffic areas that show wear first. Balustrading, handrails, and fascia boards are included in every deck quote at no extra charge.

Deck work is typically completed in two to three days depending on size, with minimal disruption to the household. A written maintenance schedule is provided at handover so you know exactly when to recoat to protect the investment.
