Common questions about landscaping & light earthworks
What kind of landscaping do you take on?
Smaller residential landscaping projects — rebuilding a tired front yard, reshaping a sloped section, putting in new garden beds, building a path or border, dealing with tree cuttings and the soil movement that follows. Anything one experienced operator with a small crew can do in a few days to a couple of weeks. We don't pretend to be a structural builder, but for the kind of work that quietly changes the feel of a yard, we're a good fit.
Do you do excavator or earthmoving work?
We do light earthworks — soil shifting, levelling, small retaining setups, mulch and gravel movement — using compact equipment suited to residential access. For anything that needs heavy machinery (large excavator, retaining walls over a metre high, structural drainage) we'll be honest and tell you upfront, and can suggest someone we trust if needed.
How do you quote landscaping?
After an on-site visit, we put together a written quote that breaks out labour, materials and any disposal fees. For staged projects we can quote stage by stage so you can do the highest-priority work first and budget the rest later. Quotes are free, there's no obligation, and what you see in the quote is what you pay — no surprises at invoice time.
Can you take care of green waste and rubbish removal?
Yes. For most landscaping and earthworks jobs we plan disposal into the quote — tree cuttings, dug-out roots, old turf, builder's rubble in small volumes. Larger volumes go to council green-waste or transfer stations and we cover that as part of the job.
How long does a typical landscaping project take?
It varies from one or two days for a focused job (new front bed, path, mulch refresh) to one or two weeks for a bigger reshape (multiple beds, levelling, new turf, garden structure). When we quote we'll give you a realistic schedule and keep you updated if weather pushes things. Ivan does the work himself, so you're always dealing with one person.
Do you draw up landscape designs?
We don't do formal landscape architect drawings — for big-statement designs we'd point you to a designer first and then quote on the build. For straightforward residential changes (where things go, what plants suit the spot, how a path should sit), Ivan can sketch the plan with you on site and the quote covers it. That's how most of our jobs come together.
