The questions we get asked most. If yours isn't here, the contact form gets a real answer back within one business day.
We quote per visit based on the size of the lawn, the condition it's in when we arrive, and how often you'd like us back. Our minimum visit charge covers a typical front-and-back yard in Paddington or Auchenflower; larger lots, slopes, or heavily overgrown lawns are quoted higher. Quotes are free and given before we start, and the price you're quoted is the price you pay — no surprises at the end. Most regular clients lock in a fortnightly schedule, which keeps the per-visit cost lower than one-off jobs.
Yes — Paddington, Auchenflower, Toowong, Bardon, Milton, Indooroopilly, Red Hill, and most of the inner-west and CBD fringe. We're based in Auchenflower so the inner-west is our home turf and you're never waiting long for a quote or a visit. If you're outside that radius, get in touch anyway — we'll let you know honestly whether the travel is workable for the size of your job.
A standard residential lawn — front and back yard, hedge edges, line-trim, and a light tidy of cuttings — runs about 45 minutes to 90 minutes from arrival to leaving the property cleaner than we found it. Larger blocks, uneven ground, or lawns that have been left longer than usual take more time, and we'll let you know in advance so there are no surprises. We don't rush the finish — the lawn looks proper when we leave.
Not at all — most regulars give us gate access and we work through whether you're home or not. If you'd prefer to be there for the first visit so we can walk through what you'd like, that's the most common approach. We'll always send a quick message when the job is done so you know it's been completed, and we can include a photo if that helps.
Brisbane weather is what it is — if the lawn is too wet to cut cleanly, we'll reschedule to the next available dry day rather than tear up your turf. Cutting wet grass leaves clumps, ruts, and a torn finish, so it's worth the short wait. We message you before we move things around, and your slot gets prioritised in the rescheduled run.
By default we leave clippings mulched back into the lawn — it's better for the soil and faster for everyone, and on a regular cycle there's no visible build-up. If you'd prefer them caught and removed, just let us know and we'll quote that as an extra so the green-waste removal cost is clear up front. For larger one-off jobs (overgrown lots, post-tenancy clean-outs), removal is usually included in the quote.
Public liability cover is standard for working on residential, school, and commercial properties in Brisbane — schools and commercial property managers ask to see a current certificate of currency before any site visit, and that's a conversation we have directly when you call. For residential clients it's something you usually never need to think about, but the conversation is open if you'd like to talk it through.
Yes — restoring a clean line through an overgrown formal hedge is one of our most-requested jobs in Paddington and the inner-west. We bring the height, depth, and face back to a sharp line, clear the base of weeds and growth, and tidy up the surrounds so the hedge reads cared-for from the gate. For mature box hedges, lilly pilly, or murraya that have been left a season or two, the difference after one visit is dramatic.
Most formal hedges in Brisbane benefit from a trim every 8 to 12 weeks during the growing season (spring through to autumn) and a single tidy through winter. Less than that and you're chasing a wild shape every time; more than that and you're spending money you don't need to. We'll work out the right rhythm for your specific hedge type and the line you want to keep — slower-growing buxus might be twice a year, fast-growing murraya is closer to four.
Yes — for hedge work we always remove clippings as part of the job. Hedge cuttings are coarse and visible, and leaving them in place looks unfinished. The removal cost is included in the per-visit quote so there's nothing extra to think about.
Up to about 4 metres we handle on standard ladders and platforms, which covers most established residential hedges in Paddington and surrounding suburbs. For anything taller — multi-storey screening hedges, large institutional plantings — we'll quote the job and bring the right equipment for safe access. We'll be honest if a particular job is better handled by an arborist; some over-mature hedges need different gear than maintenance trimming.
For most Brisbane hedge species (lilly pilly, murraya, buxus, photinia), late winter into early spring is the ideal window for a hard reshape — the plant has the strongest growth ahead of it to recover the cut. Light maintenance trims can run year-round. We'll let you know when we look at the hedge whether a hard reshape is what's needed or whether a regular maintenance schedule will get it back to where you want.
Yes — partial removal, gap-cutting, and full hedge removals are all part of what we do. Removal is quoted separately from trimming because of the disposal volume and the labour involved in stump and root work. We'll talk through whether removal or hard-reset trimming is the better option for what you're after — sometimes a tired hedge can be brought back rather than replaced.
Yes — schools and commercial property maintenance is a core part of what we do. We work to prep schedules around term breaks, presentation walks before key dates (Open Days, parent events, term starts), and ongoing maintenance contracts that keep the grounds at presentation standard between visits. Same standards as residential, just applied to bigger sites and tighter windows.
For most school and commercial sites we work to a schedule that covers mowing, line-trimming, edging, weed control in beds and hard surfaces, hedge maintenance, and general tidy-up. The cycle is usually fortnightly during the growing season and monthly through winter, with extra presentation visits before high-visibility dates. We tailor the schedule to the site — what each visit covers gets agreed up front so the manager always knows what's happening.
Yes — that's most of why schools come to us. We run a pre-event prep visit ahead of Open Days, parent meetings, school photo days, and term starts. The site is left clean, tidy, and safe for families before the first day begins. Same approach we apply to commercial sites that have inspections or client-facing events. Just give us the date and we'll work it into the schedule.
Yes — we work with the public liability cover and Working-with-Children arrangements that schools need to see before granting site access. We've worked enough school sites to know how to schedule around bell times, exam periods, and after-school activity to stay out of the way. The compliance conversation is one we have directly when you ring — managers know exactly what they need to sight.
Lawn mowing is one part of grounds maintenance. Full grounds maintenance covers everything from the gate inwards: lawns, line-trimming, edging, garden beds, hedges, weed control on hard surfaces, light pressure-washing of paths and undercover areas, and general site tidy. For a residential property, mowing alone might be enough; for a school, commercial site, or larger residential block, ongoing grounds maintenance keeps the whole property at presentation standard rather than just the grass.
Yes — Brisbane summer storms drop branches, leaf litter, and debris that needs clearing fast, especially on school and commercial sites where surfaces need to be safe before next opening. We can run an emergency clean-up visit on short notice for existing clients, and we work with the regular schedule to slot in storm-recovery work as it's needed.
Most commercial and school clients work with us on a fixed per-visit rate based on the agreed scope of work, paid monthly. The scope is documented up front so there's no ambiguity about what's included in each visit. For larger sites we can break the rate into separate line items (mowing, hedges, beds, hard surfaces) so the budget is transparent. Quotes are free and the price you're quoted is the price you pay each cycle.
Concrete paths, driveways, undercover school areas, commercial concrete (loading bays, walkways, courtyards), pavers, brickwork, and most masonry surfaces. We adjust the pressure and nozzle for each surface so we restore the look without damaging soft mortar or older render. For painted surfaces and timber decking we'll talk through whether pressure washing is the right approach or whether a softer wash would suit better.
Yes — surface mould, algae, oxidation streaks, leaf-tannin staining, and built-up grime all come off cleanly with the right pressure and surface treatment. Deep oil stains in concrete may need a degreaser pre-treatment, which we quote separately if it's needed. We'll do a small test patch on arrival so you can see the difference before we commit the full surface, and we won't talk you into work that won't pay off.
A residential driveway and front path runs about 1 to 2 hours depending on the size and condition. School undercover areas and commercial sites are generally a half-day to a full-day job. We'll quote the time up front so you know what to expect, and we work efficiently — pressure washing is one of those jobs where the difference between a fast finish and a thorough finish is more about technique than time.
We use the property's water supply for pressure washing — it's the standard arrangement and avoids the cost and time of bringing tanks. If your site doesn't have a working tap close to the work area, let us know in advance and we'll bring an extension solution. Water usage is generally modest for pressure washing — a typical residential driveway is well under 200 litres, and far less than running a sprinkler for the same time.
Yes — weeding through garden beds, around mulch lines, and along fences and edges is part of regular maintenance for most clients. For one-off resets where a bed has gotten on top of itself, we can do a full clean-out (all weeds removed, soil topped up, mulch refreshed if needed) so the bed reads cared-for again. Pricing is per visit for ongoing maintenance, and a flat quote for one-off resets — both are free to quote.
Yes — weeds in pavement cracks, expansion joints, and along driveway edges respond well to a combination of physical removal and follow-up treatment. We use targeted application methods that stay where they're put rather than washing into garden beds. For ongoing properties, weed control on hard surfaces becomes part of the regular cycle so the property never looks neglected at the gate.
Yes — one-off resets on overgrown blocks (post-tenancy, post-renovation, or just-letting-it-go properties) are common work for us. We quote the full reset including weed clear-out, lawn cut, hedge tidy, and bed reset, and the property comes back to a state where ongoing maintenance can pick it up. For really large blocks we may break the work over two visits to spread the load and the cost.
On a fortnightly mowing cycle, a 5-10 minute weed check across beds and hard surfaces each visit is usually enough to keep weeds from establishing. Properties that have been left to seed in usually need an initial reset and then drop into normal maintenance. We'll let you know honestly which category yours is in when we look — sometimes a one-off reset followed by light maintenance saves money compared to constant catch-up work.
We're based in Auchenflower at 58 Annie St and serve the inner-west of Brisbane: Paddington, Auchenflower, Toowong, Bardon, Milton, Indooroopilly, Red Hill, and the CBD fringe. School and commercial maintenance contracts run a slightly wider radius — give us a call and we'll let you know honestly whether your site is in our service area or whether you'd be better off with someone closer.
We work Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7am to 2pm. Sunday is closed. For commercial and school work we can adjust start times around bell times, deliveries, or quiet hours — just let us know what works for the site. Quotes can be requested any time via the form on this site or by phone, and we'll respond within one business day.
Call or message via the contact form on this site. Tell us the address, what you'd like done, and any photos if you have them. For most residential jobs we can quote from photos and the address; for larger sites or anything unusual we'll arrange a short site visit. Quotes are free, given in writing, and the quoted price is the price you pay.
Public liability cover is the standard for grounds-maintenance work on residential, school, and commercial properties across Brisbane. Schools and commercial property managers ask to see a current certificate of currency before any site visit — that's a direct conversation we have when you ring. Residential clients rarely need to think about it, but the conversation is open.
Both. One-off jobs (post-tenancy clean-outs, pre-sale property prep, storm clean-up, hedge resets) are common work for us. For ongoing maintenance we offer fortnightly, monthly, or custom-cycle arrangements depending on what the property needs. Many clients start with a one-off reset and then drop into a regular cycle — we'll talk through what makes sense for your property and budget.
Bank transfer is the standard — we send an invoice when the job is done with payment terms clearly listed. For ongoing commercial and school clients we work to monthly invoicing with standard 14-day terms. We don't take payment up front for residential work — you see the finished job before you pay.
Tell us the address and what you'd like done — we'll come back with a quote within one business day across Brisbane's inner-west.
