Specialist Cleaning for Every Rug Type

Area rugs and decorative rugs demand a different approach to wall-to-wall carpet. The wrong product or technique can strip natural dyes, shrink wool fibres or damage delicate hand-knotted construction. Andrew inspects every rug before selecting the right cleaning method, ensuring fibres are cleaned deeply without being compromised.

From large synthetic living-room rugs to treasured hand-woven pieces, we bring the same professional-grade equipment and care to every job. Most rugs are cleaned on-site in your home, so there's no need to transport them.

  • Wool & natural fibre rugs
  • Persian & Oriental rugs
  • Synthetic area rugs
  • Shaggy & high-pile rugs
  • Flatweave & kilim rugs
  • Runner rugs
  • Pet-stained rugs
  • Bamboo & jute rugs

We perform a colourfast test on every rug before cleaning begins. If there's any dye instability, we switch to a dry or minimal-moisture method to keep colours vivid and fibres intact.

Our Rug Cleaning Process

1

Inspect & Test

We examine construction, fibre type and run a dye-bleed test to confirm the safest cleaning approach.

2

Pre-Vacuum & Pre-Treat

Dry vacuuming on both sides removes loose dirt. Stains and soiled patches receive targeted treatment.

3

Deep Clean

The right method — hot-water extraction, low-moisture or dry-clean — is applied to lift embedded soiling.

4

Rinse & Dry

Residue is thoroughly rinsed and the rug is groomed and positioned for maximum airflow to aid drying.

Rug Cleaning FAQs

Can you clean wool and Persian rugs without damaging them?
Yes. Wool and Persian rugs are cleaned with cold-water, low-agitation methods and pH-neutral products that protect fibres and dyes. We never use the high-temperature extraction suited to synthetic carpets on natural fibre rugs.
Do you clean rugs on-site or take them away?
Most rugs are cleaned in your home. For heavily soiled, delicate or very large rugs we may recommend a facility clean — we'll advise you upfront and arrange collection and return.
How do I know if my rug is colourfast before cleaning?
We perform a dye-bleed test on a hidden corner before applying any product. If there's any dye instability, we switch to a dry or minimal-moisture method to keep the colours vivid.
How long does rug cleaning take to dry?
Synthetic rugs typically dry in 2–4 hours. Wool and natural fibre rugs take longer — often 6–12 hours — because they hold more moisture. Elevating the rug off the floor and ventilating the room speeds drying significantly.
Can you remove pet odours from rugs?
Yes. We use enzyme-based treatments that break down uric acid compounds responsible for pet odour rather than masking them. For severe soiling through the rug pile and backing, see our Pet Urine Cleaning service.
Is it worth cleaning a rug with fringe?
Absolutely. Fringe is cleaned carefully by hand to avoid tangling or breakage. We take particular care around delicate edges and decorative borders to preserve the rug's detail.
How often should area rugs be professionally cleaned?
Rugs in high-traffic areas or homes with pets benefit from annual professional cleaning. Decorative rugs with lighter use can go 2–3 years between cleans, with regular vacuuming in between.
Do you service the wider Sunshine Coast?
Yes — beyond Noosaville we cover Noosa Heads, Tewantin, Sunshine Beach, Peregian Beach, Cooroy, Eumundi, Pomona, Doonan and surrounding areas. Call to confirm your location.
