Coorparoo, Brisbane
A busy Coorparoo family wanted a garden they could actually enjoy — not one that consumed their weekends. The existing lawn was patchy and unreliable, the beds were weedy and undefined, and there was no clear structure to the space. The brief was simple: make it look great and keep it easy to maintain.
We designed a scheme using predominantly native and low-water species selected for Brisbane's climate — Lomandra, Westringia, Grevillea, and Liriope for groundcover. Decomposed granite paths define the garden structure and provide a clean, modern look that requires no mowing or edging. Raised garden beds were built with hardwood sleepers for a vegetable garden the family wanted.
A drip irrigation system keeps maintenance minimal — the family runs it twice a week in summer and once in winter, and the garden essentially looks after itself. Completed in 5 days.
