Is your waterproofing compliant with Australian Standards?
Yes. Eminence Tiling carries out waterproofing installations in accordance with the Australian Standard for waterproofing residential and commercial buildings, AS3740-2004, and all of our waterproofing membranes comply with AS4858. Compliant waterproofing is not just about ticking a box — it is the difference between a wet area that lasts and one that causes expensive damage down the track.
Why is waterproofing worth getting right?
Effective waterproofing is only a tiny fraction of the total cost of a build, yet it protects everything around it. Done correctly at the start, it can save you a fortune in maintenance and management costs over the lifetime of your home. Done poorly, water finds its way into walls, floors and adjacent rooms. It is one of the most important hidden steps in any wet-area project.
What products do you use for waterproofing?
We use cutting-edge waterproofing technology from trusted names including Mapei, Keraflex, Monoflex, Davco, KeraColour, Planicrete and Mapegum. The right product depends on the area — a shower, a balcony and a laundry each have different demands. We select the membrane and system to suit the specific wet area so the protection matches the way the space is used.
Can you waterproof both new builds and existing rooms?
Yes. Whether you are building from scratch, remodelling an existing bathroom or repairing a wet area that has failed, our experience extends to finding the right solution. For repairs we identify where water is getting in, and for new work we install a compliant membrane system from the start. Either way, the goal is the same — keeping water exactly where it should be.
Do you waterproof outdoor areas as well as bathrooms?
Yes. Our waterproofing experience covers solutions that keep water in check both inside and outside the home — bathrooms, laundries and showers, as well as balconies and other external wet areas. Correct fall, the right membrane and careful detailing around drains all play a part, and because we also handle tiling and screeding, the whole system is installed by one team.
Does waterproofing come with documentation?
Yes. For wet areas we provide waterproofing and tiling warranties and certificates so you have peace of mind moving into the future. Proper documentation matters — it confirms the work was carried out to standard and is valuable if you ever sell, insure or renovate the property further.
How is waterproofing priced?
Waterproofing is quoted based on the size and type of the wet area and the system it requires. It is often carried out as part of a wider tiling or bathroom project, so the waterproofing, screeding and tiling are coordinated together. You will receive a clear, obligation-free quote before any work begins.
