Lineal Drains

Linear drainage for showers, bathrooms and wet areas using quality 316 stainless steel — adaptable, versatile and built to enhance the finished look of the space.

Modern linear drainage

The cutting edge in linear drainage

Unlike the standard centre drain, a linear drain is best for bathrooms that require an adaptable and versatile drainage system. Used in wet areas such as showers and bathrooms, lineal drains enhance the finished look of the space.

Using the correct type of lineal drain is very important, as not all lineal drains are made equal. A quality lineal drain should contain waterproofing flanges and be made from quality 316 stainless steel. The versatility of the linear drain also lends itself to custom drainage solutions in spas, pools, driveways and balconies.

Questions & answers

Lineal Drains — your questions answered.

What is a lineal drain and how is it different from a normal drain?
A lineal (linear) drain is a long, narrow drainage channel rather than a single central point. Unlike a standard centre drain, it lets a floor fall in one direction, which makes it ideal for bathrooms that need an adaptable and versatile drainage layout. It also enhances the finished look of the space, allowing larger tiles and a cleaner, more modern wet area.
Why does the quality of a lineal drain matter?
Not all lineal drains are made equal. A quality lineal drain should contain proper waterproofing flanges and be made from 316 stainless steel, which stands up well to moisture over the long term. Choosing the right drain is just as important as installing it correctly — a poor-quality channel can undermine an otherwise excellent bathroom, so we use and recommend drains built to last.
Can lineal drains be used outside the bathroom?
Yes. While showers and bathrooms are the most common use, the versatility of the linear drain also lends itself to custom drainage solutions in other wet environments. We install lineal drains for spas, pools, driveways and balconies, where reliable, well-placed drainage protects the area and keeps water moving where it should.
Do you handle the waterproofing around the drain as well?
Yes. A lineal drain only performs as well as the waterproofing and screed around it. Because we also carry out compliant waterproofing and floor levelling, the drain, the fall of the floor and the waterproofing membrane are all installed by one coordinated team — which is the best way to make sure water reaches the drain and stays out of the rest of the build.
Do you install lineal drains across South-East Queensland?
Yes. We install lineal drains as part of bathroom and wet-area projects across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Whether it is a single shower upgrade or a larger renovation, let us know the suburb and the scope when you get in touch and we will arrange a time to look at the job.
How is lineal drain installation priced?
Lineal drain work is usually quoted as part of the wider bathroom or wet-area project, since the drain, the screed fall and the waterproofing all work together. The cost depends on the drain specified and the preparation involved. You will receive a clear, obligation-free quote before the work begins.
