Which types of natural stone do you install?
We work with a wide range of natural stone including slate, marble, limestone, travertine, terrazzo, sandstone and granite. Each stone has its own character, texture and colour, and behaves differently underfoot and in different rooms. During the consultation we can talk through which stone suits the look you are after, the way the space is used and the budget you are working with.
Is natural stone an eco-friendly choice?
Natural stone is a material drawn directly from the earth, and at Eminence Tiling we approach stone work with sustainability in mind. Wherever possible we choose materials on a quality basis and source from natural, sustainable and renewable resources. We can talk you through eco-friendly options as part of planning your project so the result is both beautiful and considered.
Does natural stone need special care or sealing?
Natural stone is a porous, living material, so it benefits from the right care to keep it looking its best. As part of finishing your project we are happy to share advice on cleaning techniques and products that protect the health and longevity of the stone. Looking after stone correctly keeps it beautiful for decades and helps keep ongoing maintenance simple and inexpensive.
Can natural stone be used in bathrooms and wet areas?
Yes. Natural stone is well suited to bathrooms and wet areas when it is installed correctly over a properly prepared and waterproofed substrate. Because we also handle bedding, levelling and compliant waterproofing, a natural stone bathroom can be delivered by one coordinated team — which means the preparation beneath the stone is done to the same standard as the stone itself.
How is natural stone tiling priced?
Natural stone is quoted individually because cost depends on the stone you choose, the area being covered and the preparation the substrate needs. Our long-standing supplier connections help us find competitive prices on materials. You will receive an obligation-free quote with options to suit your budget before any work begins.
Do you supply the stone or can I choose my own?
We can supply natural stone through our trusted suppliers, and our team vets materials for quality before they reach site. If you have already found stone you love, we are happy to work with it. Either way, we will give you honest, professional advice on how a particular stone will look and perform in your space.
