Tile Clean is based in Teneriffe and focuses on inner Brisbane suburbs including New Farm, Fortitude Valley, Newstead, Bowen Hills, Herston, Kelvin Grove, Kangaroo Point, South Brisbane, West End, Spring Hill and the CBD. Contact Dave to check availability in your area.
How do I get a quote?
Call Dave directly on 0416 306 645 or fill in the quote request form on this website. Dave typically responds same day. For most jobs he can give a price range over the phone or via message — some jobs require a brief site visit to quote accurately.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Dave is the only person at Tile Clean. Every job is quoted, attended and completed by Dave personally. There are no subcontractors or casual staff — when you book with Tile Clean, you're booking Dave.
How much does tile and grout cleaning cost?
Pricing depends on the area size, tile type, degree of soiling and the specific services required. Rather than publish a rate that may not reflect your job, Dave prefers to give you an accurate quote based on the actual work involved. Most residential jobs are reasonably priced — call for an honest, no-obligation estimate.
Do I need to be home during the clean?
For most indoor jobs, yes — Dave will need access to the relevant areas. For outdoor pool or surround work, it may be possible to arrange access without you being present. Discuss your situation with Dave when booking.
What payment methods do you accept?
Tile Clean accepts cash, bank transfer and most major credit cards. Dave will confirm payment options when you book.
Tile & Grout Cleaning
How often should tiles be professionally cleaned?
For most households, every 12 to 18 months is ideal. High-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms may benefit from annual cleaning. Regular mopping maintains the surface but can't remove the deep buildup that accumulates in grout lines over time.
Can you remove black mould from grout?
In many cases, yes. Professional hot-water extraction combined with appropriate mould-inhibiting chemistry can eliminate or significantly reduce mould in grout lines. Severe or deeply embedded mould may require multiple treatments. If mould has penetrated the substrate behind the tiles, more significant work may be required — Dave will advise honestly.
Do you clean natural stone tiles like marble or travertine?
Yes — natural stone tiles require specific products and lower-acid chemistry to avoid etching or damaging the surface. Dave adjusts the cleaning approach based on the stone type. Sealing natural stone is particularly important as it is more porous than ceramic or porcelain.
What do I need to do to prepare for a tile clean?
Clear any small items from the floor and surfaces to be cleaned. Move furniture away from areas to be worked on. Ensure Dave has access to a water point and power outlet. For bathroom cleans, remove any loose items from the shower and floor area. Dave will handle the rest.
Sealing & Repair
How long does grout sealing last?
A quality penetrating sealer on well-prepared grout typically lasts 2 to 5 years in residential settings. High-traffic areas may need resealing sooner. To check if your grout is still sealed, drop a small amount of water on it — if it beads, you're protected; if it soaks in quickly, it's time to reseal.
Can discoloured grout be fixed without full replacement?
Often yes. Professional deep cleaning can restore a significant amount of original colour. If discolouration is permanent, a grout colourant can be applied over clean existing grout to restore a consistent look without full replacement. Dave will assess what's achievable on your specific grout.
Can tile cleaning help before I sell my home?
Absolutely. Tile and grout condition is one of the first things buyers notice in bathrooms and kitchens. A professional clean and seal before listing can significantly improve presentation in photos and inspections — often for a fraction of the cost of other pre-sale improvements.
Pool Tile Cleaning
Can you clean pool tiles without draining the pool?
Yes — in most cases waterline tiles can be cleaned without fully draining. The water level is temporarily lowered to expose the waterline tile band, which is then cleaned and treated. Full drainage is only necessary for below-waterline tiles or severe calcium build-up.
How often should pool tiles be professionally cleaned?
Most Brisbane pools benefit from a professional tile clean every 12 to 24 months. Calcium deposits and waterline build-up accumulate steadily and become harder to remove if left for extended periods.
Is pool tile cleaning safe for the water chemistry?
Yes. Dave uses products appropriate for pool environments and takes care to prevent runoff into the water. The pool is typically suitable for swimming within 24 to 48 hours after cleaning — Dave will advise specifically based on your pool's volume and the products used.
