Luke is away this week and it has reminded me about the importance of being able to get away, switch the brain off and recharge!

Here’s an analogy for you….

If you keep using a knife over and over again, it will become blunt and will not work to its full capacity.

While it is inconvenient to sometimes stop cutting and take the time to sharpen the knife, it is beneficial in the long run because after you sharpen it, your blade will be razor sharp and will move more efficiently.

The same can be said for us!

YES, it can sometimes be inconvenient to stop work and go away for a bit, but what’s the alternative?

Would you prefer to keep working with a blunt knife and let your efficiency, creativity and passion wane?

Or would you prefer to be fresh, be excited and be at your best to take on the day?

We always get so much more done in less time after we have had some time out for us.

You don’t have to take a holiday to recharge either (although it is ideal!) Read a good book, turn off your laptop and spend some time with your kids, go and see a movie, have coffee with a friend or by yourself – if you break the pattern of doing doing doing, even just for half an hour a day, you will feel bet
