Rug cleaning FAQ

Can you clean all types of rugs?
Yes. We clean wool, synthetic, polypropylene, natural fibre (jute, sisal, seagrass), and most designer and hand-woven rugs. We assess the rug before cleaning and choose the safest method for the fibres — some natural fibre rugs require low-moisture techniques to avoid shrinkage or colour bleed.
Will cleaning damage my rug's colours?
Not with the correct method. We test for colourfastness before cleaning and use pH-neutral, fibre-safe solutions. Rugs that are poorly dyed or very old may carry some risk — we'll flag this before starting so you can make an informed decision.
Do you clean rugs on-site?
Yes. We bring all equipment to you and clean rugs in place. There's no need to roll and transport the rug unless it's an unusually large or delicate piece that benefits from a different treatment approach, in which case we'll discuss options with you.
How long until the rug is dry?
Most rugs dry within 2–6 hours depending on fibre type, pile depth, and ventilation. Natural fibre rugs and thick wool rugs may take longer. We recommend keeping foot traffic off the rug until it's fully dry and opening windows to accelerate drying.
Can you remove pet urine from rugs?
Yes. We use enzyme-based treatments to break down pet urine at the source rather than just masking the odour. For best results, treatment should happen as soon as possible after the incident. Long-set urine that has penetrated the backing may take multiple treatments.
How often should rugs be professionally cleaned?
For rugs in regular use, we recommend a professional clean every 12–18 months. Rugs in high-traffic areas, homes with pets, or those that sit near entryways and accumulate sand and dust may benefit from more frequent cleaning. Regular vacuuming extends the time between professional cleans.
