What areas on the Gold Coast do you service?
We're based in Burleigh Heads and service the full Gold Coast corridor — including Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise, Robina, Varsity Lakes, Mudgeeraba, Palm Beach, and Coolangatta. Call us for any suburb not listed and we'll let you know if we can get to you.
Are you available 7 days a week?
Yes. We operate 7 days a week and welcome short-notice bookings wherever possible. Just call Baiden directly on 0423 166 553 and we'll do our best to fit you in — even at short notice.
What cleaning products do you use?
We use XO2 cleaning products — commercial-grade, eco-friendly, 100% biodegradable, and safe for pets and children. We don't use harsh chemicals that leave residue or strong odours. Your home is safe and ready to use shortly after we finish.
Who actually does the cleaning?
Baiden — the owner — attends every job personally. We don't use subcontractors or send apprentices unsupervised. When you book with Proper Cleaning, you get Baiden on the day, every time.
Can you remove pet urine stains and odours?
Yes. We use enzyme-based treatments specifically designed to break down the uric acid crystals responsible for persistent pet odour. Results depend on how long the stain has been there and whether it's reached the underlay, but we achieve excellent results in most cases.
Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?
It helps to have lighter furniture moved aside, but it's not essential. For heavy pieces we'll work around them or move smaller items as part of the job. Just let us know when you book so we can plan accordingly.
Carpet Cleaning
How long does carpet cleaning take?
Most rooms take 20–40 minutes to clean. A typical 3-bedroom home with carpets throughout takes around 2 hours including setup and moving furniture. We'll give you a more accurate estimate when you book.
How long until I can walk on the carpet?
Most carpets are walkable within 1–2 hours and fully dry within 2–4 hours. In cooler or humid weather, allow up to 6 hours. Opening windows and running a fan speeds the process significantly.
Will cleaning shrink or damage my carpet?
No. We use appropriate methods for each carpet type. We'll identify your carpet fibre before starting and adjust the cleaning method, water temperature, and chemicals accordingly to ensure no damage or shrinkage.
How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?
Most households benefit from a professional clean every 12–18 months. Homes with pets, children, or allergy sufferers may benefit from cleaning every 6–12 months. High-traffic areas like hallways may need more frequent attention.
Can you treat high-traffic areas that look matted?
Yes. We use pre-treatment solutions and agitation techniques on matted high-traffic areas. While some permanent fibre distortion can't be fully reversed, cleaning significantly improves the appearance and removes embedded grime.
Do you offer carpet protection after cleaning?
Yes. We can apply a carpet protector (Scotchgard-style) after cleaning to repel future spills and reduce soiling. Ask about pricing when you call for your quote.
Upholstery Cleaning
What types of upholstery can you clean?
We clean most fabric upholstery — microfibre, velvet, cotton, synthetic blends, and most natural fabrics. We also clean leather and vinyl surfaces. If you're unsure about your material, just ask when you book and we'll advise.
How long until the lounge is dry?
Most fabric lounges are dry within 2–4 hours. In high-humidity conditions, allow up to 6 hours. Running a fan or air conditioning helps speed drying. We'll give you specific guidance based on your material type.
Can you clean outdoor furniture?
Yes. We clean outdoor furniture cushions, sun lounges, and upholstered outdoor pieces. Outdoor fabrics often accumulate mould, mildew, and salt — all of which we treat. POA depending on the size and condition.
Will cleaning remove the smell from my couch?
In most cases, yes. We use deodorising treatments as part of the clean to neutralise pet odours, food smells, and general must. For serious pet urine saturation, we use enzyme-based treatments that target the source of the odour.
Tile & Grout Cleaning
How does tile and grout cleaning work?
We use specialised high-pressure rotary cleaning equipment combined with alkaline pre-treatment solutions. The process lifts grime from both the tile surface and deep within the grout channels — areas that mopping and scrubbing can't reach.
Will cleaning change the colour of my grout?
Yes — for the better. Years of accumulated grime can make white grout appear grey or brown. After cleaning, most grout returns to close to its original colour. Results vary with age and level of staining, but improvement is always noticeable.
Can you seal the grout after cleaning?
Yes. Grout sealing after cleaning is highly recommended — it fills the porous surface of the grout, making future cleaning much easier and preventing re-staining. Ask about pricing when you book.
Can you remove bathroom mould from grout?
Yes. We treat mould growth directly with anti-mould agents before cleaning. Surface mould is fully removed. Deeply embedded mould in older, unsealed grout may leave some discolouration — we'll advise before starting if that's likely.

How do I get a quote?

Is there a minimum call-out fee?
Yes. The minimum is $80 for jobs within 5km of Burleigh Heads, and $120 for jobs 5–15km away. Larger or multi-service jobs are quoted individually — call for a personalised rate.
Do you offer discounts for multiple services?
Booking carpets, upholstery and tile cleaning in one visit often works out better value. Ask about a combined rate when you call — combining services in a single visit saves time and travel, and we reflect that in the pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments on the day. Payment is due on completion. We'll confirm the payment method when you book.
