Common questions
Painting FAQ
Do you do both interior and exterior painting?
Yes. Moe handles interior painting — walls, ceilings, trims, doors — and exterior painting including weatherboards, render, eaves, and fences. He also does touch-up work for rental properties between tenants.
How do you prepare surfaces before painting?
Proper preparation is what separates a lasting paint job from one that peels. Moe fills cracks and holes, sands rough surfaces, cleans off mould and grime, and primes bare or repaired areas before applying topcoats.
What type of paint do you use?
Quality paints suited to the surface and environment — low-sheen for interior walls, semi-gloss for trims, and exterior-grade coatings for outside surfaces. Moe will advise the best option for your specific job.
Can you colour-match existing paintwork?
Yes. For touch-up work, Moe can match existing colours using the paint brand and code if you have it, or by taking a chip sample to the paint shop for computer matching.
How long does an interior paint job take?
A standard bedroom takes around a day. A full interior of a 3–4 bedroom home typically takes 3–5 days depending on condition and whether ceilings are included. Moe will give you a realistic timeframe when quoting.
Do I need to move furniture?
For large pieces Moe will work around what he can, but it helps to clear the room as much as possible. He'll cover remaining items with drop sheets.
How long before the paint is ready to touch?
Most water-based paints are touch-dry within 1–2 hours and ready for a second coat after 2–4 hours. Full cure takes 2–4 weeks, but rooms are generally usable the same day.
