Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about our carpet, pest and tile services.

How does your carpet cleaning method work?
We use hot-water extraction. The carpet is first sprayed with a high-quality, low-pH detergent to lift tough stains, then our Razorback extraction machine applies warm water and vacuums it straight back out in a back-and-forth motion — washing the carpet and removing dirt, water and detergent together in one pass.
Will my carpets be soaking wet afterwards?
No. Because the machine vacuums the water back out as it cleans, carpets are left only slightly damp rather than saturated. We just ask that you keep foot traffic to a minimum until they are completely dry.
How long will my carpets take to dry?
Drying time varies with carpet type and weather. As a general rule, in warm weather nylon carpets take 4–5 hours and wool carpets 3–4 hours; add about an hour in cooler weather. Cross-flow ventilation, ceiling fans and air-conditioning on the drying cycle all speed it up.
Are your pest products safe around children and pets?
The sprays and gels Gary uses have low toxicity to mammals and minimal odour, while still being highly effective against common household pests. Gary is a licensed Pest Management Technician and is happy to talk through what's involved before any treatment.
How often should I have my home treated for pests?
We recommend residential premises be treated every 12 months. Regular annual treatment, combined with good basic housekeeping, keeps pests under control and greatly reduces the chance of re-infestation.
What pests do you treat?
Gary treats all common household pests and rodents. Ants in particular can be managed with several effective methods, which Gary is happy to explain when he assesses your home.
How do you clean tile and grout?
Gary first inspects the tiles and grout, then sprays on a high-quality tile-cleaning detergent. The area is agitated by hand with a grout brush, and a high-pressure cleaning head on the Razorback extraction machine lifts the detergent, dirt and grime away under contained high pressure.
Will tile cleaning make a mess with all that water?
No. The high-pressure head works under contained extraction, so the water, detergent and grime are vacuumed away as the machine works rather than being left to spread across the floor.
