Landscape Design

What's involved

Good landscape design is at the core of everything we do and guides us to the best possible outcome. When it's done right, the garden landscape becomes an extension of the home, flowing from indoor to outdoor, complementing its surroundings.

Our experienced landscape designers specialise in everything from small courtyards, to residential blocks and sprawling acreage. We love every part of the design process from measure-up, to concept, to implementation. Investing in a landscape design prior to construction will greatly improve the value of your property — and we have helped many people create, transform and improve their gardens.

Good to know

Landscape Design — your questions answered.

What does the landscape design process involve?
It usually starts with a measure-up and a conversation on site, where we get to understand your space, how you want to use it and the look you are drawn to. From there we move into concept design — sketching the layout, the flow from indoors to out, and how the garden will feel. Once the concept is right we develop detailed plans and a planting palette so everything is considered before a single plant goes in. We love every part of the process, from first measure to final implementation.
How do you price a landscape design?
Design pricing depends on the size and complexity of your garden and how detailed you would like the plans to be — a small courtyard concept is a very different scope to detailed plans for a sprawling block. Rather than guess, we prefer to see the space, understand what you are after, and give you a clear quote up front. We will also explain what each stage includes so you know exactly what you are getting. Get in touch and we will arrange a time to come out and talk it through.
Can you design a small courtyard or just large gardens?
We design gardens of every size. Our experienced landscape designers work on everything from compact inner-city courtyards through to standard residential blocks and sprawling acreage. A small space often benefits the most from thoughtful design — clever planting, the right materials and good flow can make a courtyard feel like a genuine extension of the home. So whether you have a balcony-sized garden or a large property, we would love to help you shape it.
Do you also build the gardens you design?
Yes — we love every part of the process from measure-up, to concept, to implementation. Having the same team design and build your garden means the vision carries through without anything being lost in translation. It also means the planting plan, the materials and the practical realities of construction are all considered together from the start. If you would prefer to take our design to your own contractor, that is fine too; our detailed plans are made to be built from.
How long does a landscape design take?
Timeframes vary with the size of the project and how many rounds of refinement you would like. A straightforward courtyard concept can come together quite quickly, while detailed plans for a larger garden naturally take longer to get right. We would rather give you a realistic timeline based on your specific project than quote a generic number — so when we meet to discuss your garden, we will map out the stages and give you a clear idea of what to expect.
Will a landscape design add value to my property?
It can. With beauty and functionality comes value — investing in good landscape design prior to construction tends to improve both how much you enjoy your home and what it is worth. A well-designed garden becomes an extension of the house, flowing from indoor to outdoor and complementing its surroundings. We have been lucky enough to help many Brisbane homeowners create, transform and improve their gardens, and a considered design is what makes the result feel cohesive rather than piecemeal.
Do you cover my Brisbane suburb for landscape design?
We design gardens across greater Brisbane and the surrounding suburbs, including Paddington, Bardon, New Farm, Ashgrove, Highgate Hill and well beyond. We come to you for the initial measure-up and consultation so we can experience the space first-hand. If you would like to check we cover your area, just send through your suburb when you get in touch and we will confirm right away.
What should I prepare before a design consultation?
Not much is needed — just an idea of how you would like to use the garden and any looks or features you are drawn to. Photos of gardens you love, a rough wish-list, and any practical must-haves (a vegie patch, a play area, low maintenance, privacy) all help us understand you. If you have a site survey or property plans handy that is a bonus, but it is not essential — part of our process is measuring up the space ourselves so the design is grounded in reality.
