Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our cleaning and pest control services on the Sunshine Coast.

General

Are you owner-operated?
Yes — Corey owns and operates Sunshine Coast Local Carpet Cleaning. Every job is done by Corey personally, not subcontracted to third parties. When you book with us, you know exactly who is coming to your home or property.
What areas do you service?
We service all major Sunshine Coast suburbs including Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Caloundra, Nambour, Noosa, Buderim, Kawana, Sippy Downs, Palmview, Coolum, Peregian, Bli Bli, Yandina, Glass House Mountains and Montville. Contact us if your suburb isn't listed — we cover the wider region.
How do I get a quote?
Call Corey directly on 0422 827 862 or send a message via the contact form with details about your property and the service you need. We typically respond the same day.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and bank transfer. Payment details will be confirmed at booking. We keep our processes simple so we can keep prices unbeatable.
Do you work weekends?
Yes — we work Monday to Saturday. Weekend bookings are available and particularly popular for end-of-lease cleans where tenants need to hand keys back quickly.

Carpet Cleaning

What method do you use for carpet cleaning?
We use hot water extraction (steam cleaning) with the Rotovac 360i machine. The rotary head drives cleaning solution deep into carpet fibres, agitates embedded dirt, and then extracts the dirty water — producing a far deeper clean than wand-only systems or dry cleaning methods.
How long does carpet take to dry?
Most carpets are dry within 2–4 hours under normal Sunshine Coast conditions. Good airflow speeds this up — opening windows or running a fan helps. We recommend walking on the carpet as little as possible until it's fully dry to avoid resoiling.
Can you remove pet odours from carpet?
Yes — hot water extraction removes pet odours very effectively in most cases. For severe or long-standing urine odours that have penetrated to the underlay or subfloor, we can discuss targeted treatment options at the time of inspection.
How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?
For most homes, once every 12–18 months is sufficient. High-traffic areas, households with pets or young children, or properties with allergy sufferers benefit from cleaning every 6–12 months. End-of-lease cleans are also a common trigger for professional carpet cleaning.

Bond & End-of-Lease Cleaning

Does your bond cleaning come with a guarantee?
Yes — if your real estate agent or property manager is not satisfied with any item we cleaned, we will return and re-clean that area at no charge. This applies provided you notify us within 72 hours of the final inspection and the property has not been re-occupied.
What does bond cleaning include?
Our end-of-lease cleaning covers all rooms including kitchen (oven, rangehood, surfaces, cupboards), bathrooms and toilets, laundry, all floors (vacuumed and mopped), window sills, skirting boards, light switches and door frames. Carpet steam cleaning can be added as a package.
Do I need pest control for my bond clean?
If pets were kept at the property during the tenancy, a flea treatment is typically required under Queensland tenancy law. Even without pets, some property managers request a general pest treatment. Check your lease agreement — we can provide both services in one visit.

Pest Control

What pests do you treat?
Our general pest treatment covers cockroaches, ants, spiders, silverfish and similar crawling insects. We also provide flea treatments for end-of-lease requirements and properties with pets. Contact us to discuss specific pest concerns.
Is the treatment safe for children and pets?
Once the treatment has dried and the property has been ventilated (typically 2–4 hours after treatment), it is safe for children and pets. Corey will advise you on the specific re-entry time based on the products used for your job.
Can I combine pest control with carpet or bond cleaning?
Absolutely — booking pest control and carpet or bond cleaning together is a popular choice for end-of-lease cleans. It means one visit, one invoice, and a property that ticks every item on the real estate checklist.

Lounge & Mattress Cleaning

Can you clean leather lounges?
Yes — we clean fabric and leather lounges using appropriate methods for each material type. Leather requires gentler cleaning and conditioning rather than hot water extraction. Let us know what type of lounge you have when you book.
How often should mattresses be professionally cleaned?
Annually is a good baseline for most households. For allergy or asthma sufferers, or households with young children or pets, cleaning every 6 months is beneficial. A professional clean removes dust mites, allergens and odours that regular vacuuming can't reach.
How long does lounge cleaning take to dry?
Fabric lounges are typically dry within 2–4 hours with good ventilation. The drying time depends on the fabric weight, cleaning method used and ambient conditions. We recommend keeping the room well-ventilated and avoiding sitting on damp fabric.
