Frequently Asked Questions

Everything customers usually ask before booking a clean with PAQ — pricing, scope, scheduling, the lot.

Bond & Exit Cleaning

Do you guarantee the bond back?
We can't guarantee the property manager's behaviour, but every PAQ exit clean is done to the standard real estate inspections measure against. If something specific is flagged after the clean, we'll come back to address it. That's why we run a full pre-clean checklist with you — so we know exactly which line items have to be perfect for your particular property and lease type.
How long does a bond clean take?
A standard 2-bedroom apartment usually takes one PAQ cleaner four to six hours, or two of us about three. Larger houses with garages, outdoor areas or yards take longer, and any add-ons like carpet steam stretch the day a little further. We'll give you a realistic time estimate with your quote so you can plan handover with the agent.
How is the bond clean priced?
Bond cleans are quoted per property rather than per hour — that way the price you're quoted is the price you pay regardless of how long it actually takes. The quote depends on bedrooms, bathrooms, condition of the property, whether carpets are included, and any add-ons. Free quote turnaround is usually the same day you ask.
Do I need to be there during the clean?
No. Most exit cleans happen after you've already moved out — you're not living there anymore by definition. We just need a way to access the property (key handover, code, or letting agents) and we'll lock up when we're done and confirm completion by text.
Can you do carpet steam at the same visit?
Yes — carpet steam cleaning is a common add-on for bond cleans because most leases require professional carpet cleaning at exit. Mention it when you book and we'll quote it as part of the package, so you only deal with one provider and one invoice for the whole exit.
How early do I need to book a bond clean?
Two weeks ahead is the comfortable lead time, especially around end-of-month when exit dates cluster. Same-week bookings are sometimes possible depending on the calendar — message us with your exit date and suburb and we'll tell you straight what's available.
What if the property manager isn't happy?
We address it. Re-cleans on properly-booked PAQ bond cleans are covered, provided the property condition at handover matched what we quoted on. The bigger thing is the quoting conversation — that's where we set realistic expectations for both sides so there are no surprises at inspection.
Can you clean if the property is still partly furnished?
Yes, but a 'furnished bond clean' is a different quote because we're working around objects rather than across empty floors. Let us know what's still on-site when you ask for the quote and we'll factor it in. Furniture removal is not part of the service.

Regular Housekeeping

How often do most regulars book?
Fortnightly is the most popular cadence — it keeps the home in steady shape without the cost or frequency of weekly. Weekly suits busier households with kids, pets or both. Monthly is a good fit for smaller homes or households where the brief is more 'maintenance plus deeper rooms each visit' rather than a top-to-toe weekly reset.
Do I need to be home during the clean?
No. Most regulars have us clean while they're at work — we have keys or codes for access and lock up properly when we're done. If you'd prefer to be home, that's fine too. The job is the same either way.
How is regular cleaning priced?
Regular cleaning is quoted per visit rather than per hour, based on the home's size, the cadence and the scope agreed at the start. Fortnightly and weekly bookings get a better per-visit rate than one-offs because we're working a routine and bringing efficiency over time. Quotes are free and back the same day.
Can I skip a clean if I'm on holiday?
Yes. Just give us a week's notice when possible and we'll pause your slot. We try to hold your regular time of day on the calendar so it's straightforward to restart afterwards. No cancellation fees for properly-notified pauses.
Do you bring all the cleaning products?
Yes — vacuums, mops, microfiber cloths, chemicals, the bucket, the lot. If you have specific products you'd prefer we use (allergy-sensitive, eco-only, pet-safe) just let us know at quote time and we'll use yours instead. No extra charge for that.
What if my regular cleaner is sick?
We'll let you know in advance and offer to reschedule, or send a backup cleaner who's been briefed on your property's specifics. We don't quietly substitute people without telling you — consistency is the whole point of the regular service.
Can I add extra rooms or tasks on a given visit?
Yes. Send us a heads-up when you book or before the visit, and we'll quote any add-on (oven detail, inside cupboards, post-party clean-up, etc.) for that visit only. The base rate stays the same; only the extra task is added on.
Can I change my cadence later?
Absolutely. Plenty of regulars start fortnightly and shift to weekly when life gets busier, or step down to monthly when they no longer need the same intensity. Just message us and we'll re-quote and re-slot you on the calendar.

One-Off Cleaning

What counts as a one-off clean?
Anything that isn't a regular recurring booking or a bond/exit clean. The most common ones are spring cleans, move-in cleans (before unpacking into a new place), pre-event tidy-ups (before guests, parties, inspections), and post-renovation cleans where there's dust and debris to clear before living back in the space. If you're not sure which bucket you're in, ask and we'll suggest the right one.
How is a one-off clean priced?
One-off cleans are quoted per job, based on home size, scope and any add-ons (oven, carpets, windows, outdoor). The quote you're given is the quote you pay regardless of how long it actually takes us — no surprise hourly extras. Same-day quotes by message or call.
How long does a one-off deep clean take?
A 2-3 bedroom home typically takes one PAQ cleaner six to eight hours, or two of us three to four. Larger homes or jobs with significant add-ons (full window detail, carpets, ovens) stretch longer. We'll give you a realistic time estimate with the quote so you can plan around our visit.
Can I get a one-off clean booked this week?
Often yes. We try to hold some capacity for short-notice one-off bookings. Message us with your suburb, the size of the place and what you need cleaned, and we'll tell you straight what's available this week and next.
Do you bring all the equipment?
Yes — vacuums, mops, microfiber, chemicals, ladders for the reachable high stuff, everything we need. You don't need to have anything on hand. If you have specific products you'd like used (allergy-sensitive, eco-only, pet-safe) tell us at quote time.
Can a one-off clean become a regular booking?
Easily. Plenty of regulars start with a one-off because they wanted to test the service first. If you decide afterwards that you'd like us back fortnightly or weekly, just say so and we'll re-quote on a regular rate and find you a slot on the calendar.
Are post-renovation cleans included?
Yes — post-renovation and post-build cleans are a one-off speciality. Expect more chemical, more passes, and add-on equipment to handle plaster dust, paint speckle and construction debris. These are quoted higher than a standard one-off because of the time and consumables involved.
Can you clean outside areas like patios and garages?
Yes, as add-ons to a one-off clean. We don't do high-pressure exterior cleaning, but patios, garages, internal outdoor entertaining areas and similar are all routinely included on request. Mention it at quote time and we'll factor it in.

General Questions

What suburbs does PAQ Cleaning cover?
PAQ is based in Clayfield and covers a tight cluster of inner north-east Brisbane suburbs — Clayfield, Hendra, Ascot, Hamilton, Albion, Wooloowin, Eagle Farm, Toombul, Nundah, Northgate, Wavell Heights, Kalinga, Lutwyche and Windsor. If you're nearby but not on the list, send us a message — we'll often stretch a little further for the right job, especially for recurring regulars.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm is the standard window. We usually start the first job around 8am once everyone's traffic-cleared and finish by mid-afternoon. Weekend jobs are sometimes available for bond cleans and one-offs around end-of-month and end-of-year peaks — ask when you book.
Are you insured?
Yes — PAQ Cleaning Services operates with public liability cover for the work we do in client homes and properties. If you'd like the policy details for a body corporate or commercial booking, just ask at quote time and we'll send them through.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, EFT bank transfer, Eftpos and major cards including Mastercard and Visa. For regular bookings most clients prefer to set up auto-transfer on the day of the clean — easier for everyone. Invoices are sent by email or text after each visit so there's a clear paper trail.
How do I get a quote?
Send us a quick message describing the property — size, what needs cleaning, any add-ons like oven or carpets — and whether you want a one-off, a regular booking or a bond clean. Quotes are free and almost always back the same day. We don't do high-pressure sales calls.
Are you pet-friendly?
Very. Pet-friendly is part of why people book us — the dogs, cats and birds of the inner north-east are accounted for. Pet hair, paw prints and the bowl area mess are normal parts of the job. We adapt around skittish animals and don't use chemicals that aren't pet-safe unless you've specifically asked us to.
