Answers to common questions about pool design, landscape construction, our process, and ongoing maintenance in Brisbane.
1 Getting Started
How do I get started with Outdoor Aspect?
The easiest way is to send us a message via the contact form or call us on 07 3352 5100. Tell us about your outdoor space and what you're hoping to create. We'll arrange a site visit at a time that suits you — no fee, no obligation.
Is there a fee for the initial consultation?
No. The initial conversation and site visit are at no cost. A design fee applies for detailed landscape masterplans — this is discussed and agreed before any design work begins.
What areas of Brisbane do you service?
We're based in Wilston (194 Newmarket Road) and regularly work across Brisbane's inner north and inner city — including New Farm, Hamilton, Ascot, Paddington, Teneriffe, Bardon, Newstead, and surrounding suburbs.
2 Pools
What type of pools do you build?
We build custom concrete and fibreglass pools, plunge pools, lap pools, and infinity pools. Each pool is designed specifically for your site, lifestyle and budget — no catalogue options.
How much does a pool cost in Brisbane?
Pool costs vary widely based on type, size, site conditions and finish. A concrete pool typically starts from $50,000+; fibreglass from $35,000+. The most accurate figure comes from a site visit and itemised quote. Contact us and we'll give you a clear picture at no obligation.
Do you handle council approvals and pool safety compliance?
Yes. We manage all council development applications, pool safety certificates, fencing compliance and certifications as part of the project. You don't need to deal with the paperwork.
Can you add a pool to an existing landscaped garden?
Absolutely. We regularly add pools to established gardens — working around existing trees, structures and site access constraints. Ricky will assess the site and advise on the best approach given what's already there.
How long does pool construction take?
A pool-only project typically takes 6–10 weeks from commencement. A combined pool and landscape project is usually 10–16 weeks, depending on scope and weather. We give you a detailed build schedule at the quote stage.
3 Landscaping
What's included in a full landscape design?
A full landscape masterplan includes a site analysis, concept design, detailed drawings, planting specifications, materials schedule and 3D visualisations. We also cover structures (pergolas, decks, retaining walls), surfaces (paving, turf, garden beds) and irrigation where required.
Can you work on a partial garden — not a full redesign?
Yes. We handle targeted improvements as well as full redesigns — adding a pergola, refreshing planting, improving drainage, or building a new entertaining area. We'll visit the site and propose what makes sense for your budget and goals.
Do you plant for Brisbane's climate specifically?
Yes. Ryan's planting plans are designed for Brisbane's subtropical climate — species that establish well in Queensland conditions, handle the heat and wet season, and look good year-round. We don't specify plants that struggle here.
4 Process & Pricing
Do you provide a fixed-price quote?
Yes. Every quote from Outdoor Aspect is fully itemised and fixed-price. You know what you're getting before any work starts. If scope changes during the project, we discuss it and agree on the cost before any additional work happens — no surprise invoices.
Do I need to be home during construction?
No. You don't need to be home, though we do keep you updated throughout the build. We'll contact you for any decisions that need to be made. You're welcome to drop in at any stage — we're happy to walk you through progress.
Who do I contact if something comes up during the build?
Ricky is your point of contact throughout the project. You'll have his direct number from the start. If anything needs a decision or explanation during the build, we call you — we don't make assumptions.
5 Maintenance
Do you offer ongoing pool and garden maintenance?
Yes. We offer regular pool servicing (weekly or fortnightly) and garden maintenance packages. Many clients move to a maintenance arrangement after their project is complete. Because we built the space, we already know it well.
What does pool maintenance include?
Regular visits include water testing and chemical balancing, vacuuming, brushing, filter cleaning, equipment inspection, and minor adjustments. We'll flag any repairs needed before they become bigger problems.
