General questions

What suburbs does CJ's Lawn Care service?+
CJ's Lawn Care is based in Carina Heights and services the surrounding south-east Brisbane suburbs, including Carina, Carindale, Camp Hill, Coorparoo, Cannon Hill, Holland Park and Mount Gravatt. Being a local operation keeps travel short and response times quick. If your suburb is nearby and not on that list, it's still well worth getting in touch — there's a good chance you fall within our regular run. Just send through your address and we'll confirm whether we can help.
How do I get a quote?+
Getting a quote is easy. Call or text 0447 059 675, or fill in the quote form on the website with your suburb and a few details about your yard and what you'd like done. A photo or two always helps. For larger or more involved jobs, an in-person look is sometimes the clearest way to price it. Either way, you'll get a clear figure before any work starts — quotes are free and there's no obligation to go ahead.
Is CJ's Lawn Care licensed for weed control?+
Yes. CJ's Lawn Care is fully commercially licensed in herbicide application. That means weed treatments are carried out by a licensed operator who understands correct product selection, safe handling and the right application rates. Holding a proper licence is an important part of doing weed control responsibly — it protects your lawn, your plants, and the people and pets around your property. It's one of the reasons customers are comfortable trusting us with weed control rather than tackling it themselves.
Do you take on one-off jobs, or only regular service?+
Both. Plenty of customers book CJ's Lawn Care for a one-off job — an overgrown lawn before an inspection, a garden tidy-up, or a clean-up before guests arrive. Others prefer an ongoing schedule so their yard is simply looked after without them having to think about it. You're welcome to start with a one-off and move to a regular routine later, or the other way around. There are no lock-in contracts, so you can do whatever suits you.
How quickly can you start?+
It depends on the current schedule and the time of year — lawns grow fastest over the warmer months, so that's the busiest period. The best move is to get in touch as early as you can with your details, and we'll let you know the soonest realistic window. If your job is urgent, such as a lawn that needs sorting before an inspection or an event, mention that when you contact us and we'll do our best to fit it in.
Do I need to be home when the work is done?+
No. Most regular customers aren't home when their lawn or garden is done, and that works perfectly well. As long as we can access the areas that need attention, the job goes ahead as scheduled. If you have a locked gate, a pet, or particular instructions, just let us know when you book. Many customers love that they can simply come home to a freshly maintained yard without having to be there or rearrange their day.
How do payments work?+
Payment is kept simple and straightforward. When you book, Connor will let you know how payment works and the options available, so it's all clear before the job goes ahead. There are no lock-in contracts and no hidden fees — the price you're quoted is the price for the work agreed. If you have any questions about how billing works for a regular schedule versus a one-off job, just ask when you get in touch.

Lawn care & maintenance

How often should I have my lawn mowed?+
It depends on the season and your grass type. Through the warmer Brisbane months lawns grow quickly and a fortnightly cut usually keeps things looking sharp, while winter growth slows down and monthly visits are often enough. Many customers set up a regular schedule so they never have to think about it, and others book as needed. We're happy to recommend a rhythm based on your lawn, and you can always adjust it as the seasons change.
Can you take on a lawn that's badly overgrown?+
Yes. Overgrown lawns are a common starting point — many customers first call when things have gotten away from them. An overgrown lawn usually needs a bit more time and care on the first visit, and occasionally a second pass, so it's quoted separately from a regular cut. Once it's back under control, an ongoing schedule keeps it that way and is far easier to manage. Send a photo or description and we'll let you know the best approach.
Do you remove the lawn clippings?+
A standard mow includes a thorough blow-down so paths, driveways and edges are left clean and clear. For most regular cuts, light clippings are mulched back into the lawn, which is good for the grass. If your lawn is long or you'd prefer the clippings collected and taken away, just mention it when you book so we can plan for it. We'll always talk through what suits your lawn before getting started.

Gardening services

What does a garden bed clean-up include?+
A garden bed clean-up clears out weeds, fallen leaves and general debris so your beds look fresh and your plants have room to breathe. It's a great reset for beds that have been neglected for a while, and a good lead-in to mulching or new planting. Every garden is different, so the work is tailored to what your beds actually need. Let us know what you'd like the end result to look like and we'll talk through the best way to get there.
Do you trim large or tall trees?+
CJ's Lawn Care handles hedge and tree trimming as part of regular garden maintenance — shaping hedges, tidying small trees and keeping growth in check. Very large trees, or work that needs climbing or removal, generally falls to a specialist arborist for safety reasons. If you're not sure which category your job falls into, get in touch and describe what you've got. We'll give you an honest answer and point you in the right direction if it's outside what we do.
Can gardening be combined with my regular mow?+
Absolutely — and most customers find it the easiest way to keep the whole yard looking good. Gardening work can be scheduled alongside your regular lawn visits, or booked as a separate one-off tidy-up when beds need attention. Combining services in one visit also keeps things efficient. When you get in touch, just mention everything you'd like looked after and we'll put together a plan and a price that covers the lot.

Weed control

Is weed treatment safe around children and pets?+
Weed treatments are carried out by a commercially licensed operator, which means products are handled, mixed and applied according to their proper guidelines. Part of responsible application is advising you on anything you need to know afterwards, such as keeping off a treated area until it has dried. If you have young children or pets, just let us know when you book and we'll factor that into how and when the treatment is done so you can plan around it comfortably.
How long until weeds are gone after treatment?+
Most weed treatments take a little time to show their full effect rather than working instantly — that's normal and expected. How quickly you'll see results depends on the weed type and the conditions at the time. Some areas clear up well after a single treatment, while persistent or widespread weeds may need a follow-up. We'll give you a realistic idea of what to expect for your particular situation, so you know whether one visit will do it or whether ongoing control is the smarter approach.
Can weed control be part of regular maintenance?+
Yes, and for many properties that's the most effective approach. Staying on top of weeds with periodic treatment is far easier than letting them take hold and then trying to claw an overrun lawn back. Weed control can be combined with your regular mowing and gardening visits so the whole yard is looked after together. When you get in touch, mention that you'd like weeds kept in check and we'll build it into a plan that suits your property and your budget.
