Identifying the fibre is the single most important step in cleaning carpet and upholstery safely. Here's a plain-English guide to the fibres we work with every week — and why it matters.
We test and identify before we treat — so the right method is matched to your carpet, rug or lounge.
Natural, luxurious and fire-retardant, but easily damaged by the wrong products. We use a wool-specific pre-spray where many cleaners use harsher chemicals.
Soft, durable and versatile. Solution-dyed nylon is one of the most stain-resistant and easiest fibres to clean.
Made from up to 100% recycled bottles — durable and colourfast.
Common in rentals, cost-effective and easy to clean, but can be permanently damaged by dye-based stains.
An artificial silk made from wood pulp. Very delicate — not suited to spot cleaning or over-wetting.
Soft but absorbent to colour; we check every fibre is colourfast before cleaning.
A durable synthetic suede look-alike made from tiny polyester fibres — more stain-resistant than real suede.
That's our specialty — call Andrew and we'll identify it and advise the safest clean.
