Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about cleaning, drying times, stain advice and our pest control — straight answers from Andrew.

How often should I get my carpets, rugs and upholstery cleaned?
Every 6–12 months is recommended. Homes with pets or young children benefit from a clean closer to every 6 months, while a tidy home in good condition can usually go 12 months. Leaving it for many years can limit the results that are achievable.
What should I do if I spill something on my carpet or upholstery?
Message, text or call us for advice before you treat it. Some fibres react badly to particular products and can be permanently damaged — sometimes the safest thing is to use nothing and let us handle it at your next clean.
Is it okay to use vinegar or bicarb soda on a stain?
No. They usually have no positive effect and can make things worse. Some fibres need a neutral pH — vinegar is acidic and bicarb is alkaline, and both can cause damage or odour issues if they aren't fully flushed out.
How long does it take to dry?
It depends on the method. Encapsulation (dry cleaning) can take up to an hour, while hot-water extraction can take up to 4–5 hours for carpets and rugs and up to 6 hours for upholstery. Rain, poor airflow or heavy soiling can extend drying time.
Is your pest control safe for cats, dogs and other pets?
Yes — our treatments are completely safe once dry. We ask that people and pets stay away from the treated area during the treatment and for one hour afterwards.
How long do pest treatments last?
Internal treatments come with a 12-month warranty and external treatments a 6-month warranty. Hygiene and living conditions can affect how long a treatment stays effective.
Do you work on short notice?
Yes. We're available 24 hours and are known for fitting jobs in at short notice — including end-of-lease cleans. Call or message Andrew and we'll do our best to help.
Which fibres can you clean?
All of them. We're experienced in fibre identification and safely clean wool, nylon, polyester, polypropylene, viscose, cotton and microfibre suede — identifying the fibre first so the right method is used.
