Do you tile floors for both homes and businesses?
Yes. We lay floor tiles for residential homes — living areas, kitchens, hallways and more — as well as commercial spaces such as offices, retail fit-outs and other business premises. Whatever the setting, the priorities are the same: a level, well-prepared base and tiles laid with clean, consistent joints.
Can you tile over an existing floor?
Sometimes, but not always — it depends on the condition and type of the existing floor. We'll assess it first, because tiling over an unsound or uneven surface causes problems later. In many cases the better result comes from removing the old floor, preparing the substrate and laying the new tiles on a sound base. We'll give you an honest recommendation at the quote.
What areas of a property do you tile?
We tile living and family rooms, kitchens, hallways, laundries, outdoor and entertaining areas, and commercial floors such as offices and retail spaces. If you're tiling a high-traffic area we'll talk through tile choices that stand up to wear, and if it's a feature space we'll focus on getting the layout and pattern looking sharp.
Do you prepare and level the floor before tiling?
Always. Floor preparation is what separates a tiling job that looks good for decades from one that cracks or lifts. We check the substrate, level and prepare it as needed, and only tile once the base is sound. It's not the glamorous part of the job, but it's the part that protects your investment.
What tiles work best for floors?
Durable tiles such as porcelain are popular for floors because they handle traffic, moisture and cleaning well, but the right choice depends on the room, the look you want and your budget. We're happy to talk through options during your quote so you end up with a floor that suits how the space is actually used.
How do you price floor tiling?
Floor tiling is priced per job after a free on-site quote. The main factors are the floor area, the amount of preparation and levelling required, the tile type and layout, and whether any old flooring needs removing. You'll receive a clear written price up front with no hidden extras.
Do you seal the floor after tiling?
Yes — we grout the floor and seal where appropriate so it's protected and ready to use. Sealing helps keep grout lines and certain tile types easier to clean and more resistant to staining. We'll let you know what your particular floor needs as part of the job.
How long does floor tiling take?
It depends on the size of the area and how much preparation is involved, but many floors are completed within a few working days once we start. We'll give you a clear timeframe with your quote and let you know when the floor is ready to walk on and use normally.
