Are you insured?
Yes. We carry full public liability insurance for all services. You're covered whether we're at your home or a commercial property.
Who actually does the work?
Selva Lawns & Gardens is a family business founded by two brothers — Sam and his brother. You'll see the same crew at your property on each visit. We don't subcontract your job to unknown operators.
How long have you been operating?
We've been servicing Brisbane's north side for several years, building our reputation entirely on word-of-mouth and repeat clients. Our 5.0-star Google rating reflects that consistency.
Do I need to be home during the service?
No. Most of our regular clients aren't home. As long as we have safe gate access to the property, we'll complete the job and leave everything neat and tidy. We can send a message when we're done if you'd like.

How do I book?

How often should I have my lawn mowed?
In Brisbane, most lawns benefit from fortnightly mowing during the growing season (spring and summer) and monthly during cooler months. We'll recommend a schedule based on your lawn type and current growth rate.
What happens if it rains on my scheduled day?
We monitor the weather closely and notify you if we need to reschedule due to rain. There's no charge for weather-related reschedules and we'll find the next available slot promptly.
Do you offer one-off visits or only regular schedules?
Both. We're happy to do a one-off mow, garden cleanup, or pressure wash — no contract required. That said, most clients find a regular schedule gives them the best results at the best value.
How much notice do you need to book?
For regular maintenance, 48–72 hours is ideal. For larger jobs (garden cleanups, soft landscaping), a week's notice helps us plan properly. We can sometimes accommodate urgent requests — call to check availability.
Pricing
How much does lawn mowing cost?
Pricing depends on the size of your lawn and any additional services required. We don't publish fixed prices because every property is different. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote tailored to your property.
Do you charge by the hour or by the job?
We quote by the job for most services, so you know the price upfront before we start. For larger or more variable projects, we'll discuss the pricing structure in advance.
Is there a call-out fee?
No call-out fee for quotes. We'll come and assess your property, provide a written quote, and it's entirely up to you whether to proceed.
Do you offer discounts for regular clients?
Regular scheduled clients receive preferential pricing over one-off jobs. We appreciate loyalty and reward it with reliable service and value.
Lawn Care
What lawn types do you work with?
All common Queensland turf varieties — buffalo (Sir Walter, Sapphire), couch, kikuyu, and zoysia. Treatment schedules and mowing heights are adjusted per variety.
Can you fix a lawn that's in poor condition?
Yes. Most struggling lawns can be brought back to good health with a targeted renovation program — which may include weed control, fertilising, aeration, and dethatching. We'll assess and advise after inspection.
Are your products safe for children and pets?
We use industry-standard products applied according to label directions. For applications that require a re-entry period (e.g. herbicides), we'll advise you on when it's safe to allow access.
Do I need to water my lawn after you've mowed?
Regular watering is always beneficial, especially during Brisbane's dry spells. After fertilising applications, watering the day of or day after helps activate the nutrients.

What services do you offer beyond lawn mowing?
We offer grounds maintenance, pre-sale and end-of-lease cleanups, garden cleanups with green waste removal, soft landscaping (planting, mulching, turf), a lawn care program (fertilising, weed control, aeration), commercial maintenance, and pressure washing.
Do you do commercial properties?
Yes. We work with strata complexes, body corporates, retail centres, and office parks. We can accommodate early-morning scheduling and provide regular reporting for property managers.
Can you handle severely overgrown properties?
Yes. We've seen it all — no job is too overgrown. We'll assess and provide an honest upfront quote that accounts for the extra time involved.

Do you service the inner suburbs or south side?
We're based in Kedron and primarily service Brisbane's north side where we can provide consistent, reliable scheduling. For properties further afield, contact us and we'll let you know if we can assist.
