Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about working with Revamp Landscapes — service areas, quoting, licensing and what to expect from each of our landscaping services.
General
What areas does Revamp Landscapes service?
Revamp Landscapes is based in Ashgrove and works throughout the north-west suburbs of Brisbane, including Bardon, The Gap, Mitchelton, Kelvin Grove, Ferny Grove, Kedron and surrounds. We can also take on work outside these areas as requested. If you're unsure whether we cover your suburb, just get in touch with your location and we'll let you know and arrange a time to discuss your project.
Is Revamp Landscapes licensed and insured?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes is fully insured, and owner Nick Robson is a member of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, holding QBCC licence 15058985. That means your structural landscaping and construction work is carried out by a qualified, licensed operator. We're happy to discuss licensing and insurance with you when we quote your project.
How does Revamp Landscapes quote a job?
We provide quotes by visiting your property, looking at the space, talking through what you want to achieve and then giving you a clear written quote. We don't work to flat rates because every outdoor space and project is different. Once the quote is agreed, you'll know what's included and what you're paying — there are no surprises once work is underway.
What are your operating hours?
Revamp Landscapes operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with Saturday work by appointment. The easiest way to reach us is by phone on 0402 327 921 or through the quote form on our website. If you contact us outside those hours, leave your details and we'll get back to you to talk through your project and arrange a time to visit.
How do I get started on a project?
Getting started is simple. Call us on 0402 327 921 or fill out the quote form with as much detail about your project as you can. We'll be in touch to talk through your ideas and arrange a time to visit and assess the space. From there we provide a written quote, and once you're happy to proceed, we schedule the work and keep you informed throughout.
Does Revamp Landscapes manage the whole project?
Yes. Whatever the size of the job, we design, draw and manage the project from start to finish. That reduces the need to coordinate multiple trades and contractors yourself, and keeps stress and cost down. You deal with one team — led by owner Nick Robson — from the first consultation through to the completed outdoor space.
Paving
Do you cover Ashgrove and the north-west Brisbane suburbs for paving?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes is based in Ashgrove and regularly works across the north-west Brisbane suburbs, including Bardon, The Gap, Mitchelton, Kelvin Grove and surrounds. We can also take on paving work outside these areas by arrangement — just let us know your location when you get in touch and we'll confirm we can help and arrange a time to look at the job.
How does pricing work for a paving job?
Every paved area is quoted individually rather than at a flat rate, because the cost depends on the size, the material you choose, site access and how much preparation the ground needs. We'll visit, measure up, talk through your options and give you a clear written quote before any work starts. There are no surprises once the quote is agreed — you'll know what you're paying and what's included.
What paving materials can I choose from?
We work with a wide range of materials so the finish suits your home and budget. That includes pre-cast concrete, natural stone, interlocking bricks and paving slabs. During the quote we'll talk through the look, durability and upkeep of each option so you can make a confident choice. If you're not sure what will work best for a driveway, patio or walkway, we're happy to make practical suggestions.
How long does a paving project take?
Most residential paving projects are completed within a few days to a week or two, depending on the area, the material and how much groundwork is involved. Larger or more detailed jobs take longer. When we quote, we'll give you a realistic timeframe and keep you informed of progress along the way, so you always know what's happening and when the work will be finished.
Retaining Walls
Do you build retaining walls in the north-west Brisbane area?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes is based in Ashgrove and builds retaining walls throughout the north-west Brisbane suburbs and surrounds. We can also work outside these areas on request. Retaining walls are one of our core structural landscaping services, so wherever your site is, get in touch and we'll arrange to assess the slope, soil and access before quoting the job.
How much does a retaining wall cost?
Retaining walls are quoted on a job-by-job basis. The price depends on the wall's height and length, the material, the slope of your block, drainage requirements and site access. We'll come out, assess the site properly and provide a clear written quote. Because retaining walls are structural, it's important the quote reflects a build that's done right — we'll explain exactly what's included so you can compare with confidence.
What materials do you use for retaining walls?
We build retaining walls from rock, timber, concrete sleepers and other durable materials, chosen to suit your site and the look you're after. The right choice depends on the wall height, the load it needs to hold and your budget. During the quote we'll recommend the material that gives you the best combination of strength, appearance and value for your particular project.
Will a retaining wall give me more usable yard space?
Often, yes. A well-designed retaining wall turns a steep or uneven slope into level, usable space — room for a lawn, garden, patio or entertaining area. It also adds structure and durability to your block. When we plan your wall we'll look at how it can open up the rest of your yard, not just hold back soil, so you get the most value from the project.
Decking
Do you install decking across north-west Brisbane?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes builds decks throughout Ashgrove and the surrounding north-west Brisbane suburbs, and we can take on decking work outside that area by arrangement. Whether you want a small deck off a back door or a large entertaining platform, get in touch and we'll arrange a time to look at the space, talk through ideas and provide a quote.
How is a decking project priced?
Decking is quoted individually, not at a fixed price, because the cost depends on the size of the deck, the materials, the height off the ground and any structural work needed underneath. We'll visit your home, discuss what you want to use the deck for, and give you a clear written quote. You'll know exactly what's included before we start, with no unexpected costs along the way.
What decking materials do you offer?
We work with quality timber and composite decking materials, and we'll help you choose based on the look you want, how much maintenance you're happy to do and your budget. Timber offers a natural finish, while composite is very low-maintenance. During the quote we'll talk through the pros and cons of each so your new deck suits the way you live.
Can you repair or replace my existing deck?
Yes. As well as building new decks, we repair and replace tired or damaged decking. If boards are worn, the structure has aged or the deck no longer suits your home, we can assess whether a repair or a full replacement makes more sense. We'll give you honest advice and a quote for whichever option gives you the best long-term result.
Turf & Gardens
Do you supply and install turf in the north-west Brisbane suburbs?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes supplies and installs turf across Ashgrove and the wider north-west Brisbane area, and can work outside that region on request. We prepare the ground properly before laying turf so the new lawn establishes well. Get in touch and we'll arrange to look at the area, recommend a suitable turf and provide a quote for the work.
How do you price turf and garden work?
Turf and garden jobs are quoted individually based on the size of the area, the amount of ground preparation needed, the turf variety and any garden bed or planting work involved. We'll assess the site and give you a clear written quote before starting. This way you know exactly what's included — from prep through to the finished lawn or garden.
How do I keep a new lawn healthy after it's laid?
A new lawn needs regular watering in the first few weeks while the roots establish, and we'll talk you through the simple care it needs once we've laid it. The turf we use is chosen to be durable and easy to maintain, so once it's settled in, keeping it looking lush is straightforward. We're happy to answer questions about ongoing care at any time.
Can you prepare and plant garden beds as well as turf?
Yes. As well as turf, we prepare and plant garden beds so the whole space looks considered and finished. Good preparation makes a big difference to how well plants and lawn establish, so we put the work in below the surface. If you want a full garden makeover combining turf, beds and structural elements, we can manage all of it as one project.
Carports & Pergolas
Do you build carports and pergolas in north-west Brisbane?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes designs and builds carports and pergolas throughout Ashgrove and the surrounding north-west Brisbane suburbs, and can work further afield on request. Whether you want shade over an outdoor area or cover for a vehicle, get in touch and we'll arrange to look at your space and talk through a custom solution that suits your home.
How much does a carport or pergola cost?
Carports and pergolas are quoted individually rather than at a set price. The cost depends on the size, the design, the materials and how the structure ties into your home and yard. We'll visit, discuss what you need and provide a clear written quote. We aim to deliver beautifully designed structures at affordable prices, and the quote will set out exactly what's included.
Can the design be customised to my home?
Yes — every carport and pergola we build is a custom solution. We work with you to suit your space, style and needs, choosing from a range of sizes and finishes so the structure complements your home rather than looking like an add-on. During the design stage we'll make practical suggestions to get the best result for how you'll use the space.
What's the difference between a carport and a pergola for my space?
A carport is designed mainly to shelter a vehicle, while a pergola creates a shaded outdoor living or entertaining area. Some homeowners want one, some want both, and sometimes a single structure can do more than one job. We'll talk through how you want to use the space and recommend the design that gives you the most practical, good-looking result.
Fencing
Do you install fencing across the north-west Brisbane suburbs?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes installs fencing throughout Ashgrove and the surrounding north-west Brisbane suburbs, and can work outside that area on request. Whether you need a boundary fence, a feature fence or fencing as part of a larger landscaping project, get in touch and we'll arrange to look at the site and provide a quote.
How is fencing priced?
Fencing is quoted on a per-job basis. The cost depends on the length of the fence, the style and materials you choose, the slope and condition of the ground, and access to the boundary. We'll assess the site and give you a clear written quote before any work begins, so you know exactly what's included from materials through to installation.
What fencing styles and materials are available?
We provide fencing options that are both practical and stylish, and we use high-quality materials throughout. The best choice depends on whether you want privacy, security, a particular look, or a combination — and on how the fence sits with your home and garden. We'll work closely with you to understand your vision and recommend options that suit it.
Can fencing be done as part of a larger landscaping job?
Yes. Fencing often forms part of a bigger project alongside retaining walls, gardens, paving or decking. Because we handle all of these services, we can build your fence as one element of a coordinated job, so everything ties together neatly. Managing it as a single project also keeps the work simpler and reduces the need for multiple contractors.
Planning & Design
Do you offer landscape planning and design in north-west Brisbane?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes provides planning and design services across Ashgrove and the surrounding north-west Brisbane suburbs, and can work outside that area on request. Whether you have a clear vision or just a rough idea, get in touch and we'll arrange to look at your space and start shaping a design that turns your outdoor area into something you'll love.
How does pricing work for design and planning?
Design and planning work is quoted based on the scope of your project — the size of the space, the level of detail involved and whether the design leads into a full build. We'll talk through what you want to achieve and provide a clear quote. Many clients have us design and then build the project, which keeps everything coordinated under one team.
What does the design process involve?
We start by consulting with you to understand your needs, your lifestyle and your budget. From there we develop and draw a design that makes the most of your space and fits the way you live. We'll talk options and make practical suggestions along the way. Because we also build, the design is always grounded in what can realistically be delivered well.
Can you design a garden to suit my budget?
Yes. We understand landscaping is not a one-size-fits-all situation, so we take the time to create options that suit your unique project and budget. A good design works within real constraints — we'll be upfront about what's achievable and help you prioritise, so you get a result you're happy with rather than a plan that can't be delivered.
Speciality Items
Do you build custom speciality items in north-west Brisbane?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes creates custom speciality items for outdoor spaces across Ashgrove and the surrounding north-west Brisbane suburbs, and can work outside that area on request. From kids gardens to fire pits and feature builds, get in touch and we'll talk through your idea and arrange to look at the space.
How are custom speciality items priced?
Because speciality items are custom builds, each one is quoted individually based on what you want made, the materials and the complexity of the work. We'll discuss your idea, suggest practical ways to bring it to life and provide a clear written quote. You'll know exactly what's included before we begin building your one-off feature.
What kinds of speciality items can you create?
We can customise a wide range of features — kids gardens and play spaces, fire pits, tree seats, and plenty in between. The aim is to add personality to your landscaping with elements that reflect your style. If you have an idea that doesn't fit a standard service, talk to us; speciality items are exactly where we help bring those one-off ideas to life.
Can a speciality item be added to a larger project?
Yes. Speciality items often work best as part of a wider landscaping project — a fire pit within a new paved area, or a kids garden alongside turf and planting, for example. Because we handle structural landscaping as well, we can build your feature as one element of a coordinated job so it sits naturally within the finished space.
Pre-sale Makeovers
Do you do pre-sale garden makeovers in north-west Brisbane?
Yes. Revamp Landscapes carries out pre-sale makeovers across Ashgrove and the surrounding north-west Brisbane suburbs, and can work outside that area on request. If you're preparing a property for sale and want the outdoor space to make a strong impression, get in touch — we'll arrange to look at the garden and recommend high-impact improvements within your timeframe.
How much does a pre-sale makeover cost?
Pre-sale makeovers are quoted individually, because the right scope depends on the property, the budget and how much time there is before listing. We'll assess the garden, suggest the improvements likely to give you the best return on appeal, and provide a clear quote. The focus is on getting strong visual impact without spending more than the job needs.
Which improvements add the most appeal before selling?
It depends on the property, but tidy structural landscaping, fresh turf, neat garden beds, and well-presented paths and fences all lift street and buyer appeal quickly. We tailor the makeover to enhance the unique features of your garden. During the quote we'll point out where the budget is best spent for the biggest difference to how the home presents.
Can you work to a tight pre-sale timeframe?
Yes. Pre-sale work is often time-sensitive, so we plan the makeover around your listing date. When we quote we'll be realistic about what can be achieved in the time available and prioritise the improvements that matter most. Keeping you informed of progress means you can coordinate the makeover with the rest of your sale preparations.
