Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know
Answers to the questions Nathan and Lucy get asked most often. Still not sure? Just call — they're always happy to chat.
General
Are New Farm Cleaning fully insured?
Yes — Nathan and Lucy are fully insured. You can have your home cleaned with complete confidence that it's in safe, accountable hands.
Do I need to be home during the clean?
You don't need to be home for your clean. Many clients give Nathan and Lucy access while they're out at work — this is completely fine and very common. If you prefer to be home, that's equally welcome. Your comfort is the priority.
Why should I choose New Farm Cleaning over a larger company?
New Farm Cleaning is a boutique service — owned and operated by Nathan and Lucy personally. You're not dealing with a call centre or a rotating roster of cleaners; you're working with the same dedicated couple every clean. They look beyond the obvious and treat every home as if it were their own.
Can I try before I commit to a regular service?
Absolutely. Nathan and Lucy offer a no-obligation trial clean so you can experience the New Farm Cleaning difference before committing to anything. If it's not the right fit, no hard feelings.
Which areas do you service?
New Farm Cleaning services New Farm, Newstead, Teneriffe, Fortitude Valley, Spring Hill, Paddington, Milton, South Brisbane and West End. If you're nearby but not on this list, give them a call — they're often happy to extend their radius for the right client.
Our Services
What's included in a general clean?
The scope depends on your home and your needs — there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Generally, a general clean covers all living areas, kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, vacuuming and mopping throughout. Nathan and Lucy will walk you through exactly what's covered before they start, so there are no surprises.
What's the difference between a general clean and a spring clean?
A general clean is your regular maintenance service — keeping your home fresh week to week or fortnight to fortnight. A spring clean is a thorough, top-to-bottom deep clean designed to tackle the buildup that regular cleaning doesn't always reach: inside ovens, window tracks, behind appliances, and more. Spring cleans are great for a fresh start or before a big occasion.
Do you clean windows as part of a general clean?
Window cleaning is typically a separate service from a general clean, given the additional time and equipment required to achieve crystal-clear results. Ask Nathan and Lucy about bundling window cleaning with your regular service for a tailored quote.
Do you clean commercial properties?
Yes — New Farm Cleaning offers commercial and strata cleaning for offices, retail spaces and strata-managed properties. They bring the same attention to detail from their residential service to every commercial clean. Contact them to discuss your specific requirements.
Booking & Scheduling
How far in advance do I need to book?
It varies depending on their schedule. For regular weekly or fortnightly cleans, it's best to reach out a week or two ahead to secure a recurring time slot. For one-off jobs like end-of-lease or spring cleans, the earlier the better — especially around busy periods like end of financial year or school holidays.
Will I get a reminder before my clean?
Yes — Nathan and Lucy always send a reminder text the day before every scheduled clean. So you'll never be caught off guard.
Can I change or cancel a booking?
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, contact Nathan or Lucy as early as possible and they'll do their best to find an alternative time. They appreciate as much notice as you can give.
Pricing
How much does a clean cost?
Pricing is tailored to your home's size, condition and the service type. New Farm Cleaning's boutique approach means they don't use a fixed price list — instead, they'll provide a personalised quote after understanding your needs. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation estimate.
Is New Farm Cleaning more expensive than other cleaners?
Nathan and Lucy are transparent about the fact that their detailed, personalised approach may cost a little more than a standard clean. But in their experience, clients notice the difference — both in the result and in the reliability. The trial clean option means you can judge for yourself before committing.
End of Lease
Can you help me get my bond back?
Nathan and Lucy have a strong track record of helping clients receive their bond in full. They understand exactly what real estate agents and property managers look for in an end-of-lease clean, and they make sure nothing is missed.
What does an end-of-lease clean include?
An end-of-lease clean is a comprehensive service covering the entire property: kitchen (including oven, rangehood and appliances), bathrooms, all rooms, windows, carpets (if applicable), walls, skirting boards, light fittings and more. They handle all the details so you can focus on your move.
How long does an end-of-lease clean take?
Timing depends on the size of the property and its current condition. A standard 2-bedroom apartment typically takes 4–6 hours; a larger home may take a full day. Nathan and Lucy will give you an accurate time estimate when they quote.
