Blocked drains cleared fast — and properly

We clear the blockage quickly, then use a CCTV camera to find what caused it — so it doesn't come straight back next month.

Overview

Blocked Drains & CCTV

A blocked drain ranges from annoying to genuinely urgent — a slow sink is one thing, a sewer backing up into the house is another. Either way, JGH Plumbing clears it quickly with professional equipment matched to the blockage, not just a plunger and hope.

The difference is what happens next. For anything that keeps coming back, we run a CCTV camera through the line to see exactly what's going on underground — tree roots, a collapsed section, built-up grease or a foreign object. Fixing the actual cause, not just the symptom, is what stops the same blockage returning a few weeks later. You see the footage, we explain what it means, and any further repair is quoted on evidence.

FAQs

Blocked Drains & CCTV — your questions answered

Can you clear my blocked drain today?
In most cases, yes — and a sewer drain backing up into the house is an emergency we respond to 24/7. Call us, describe what's happening, and we'll get to you as quickly as we can with the right equipment to clear it.
What is a CCTV drain inspection and do I need one?
It's a small waterproof camera fed through your pipes that shows us exactly what's happening underground in real time. You don't always need one for a simple, one-off blockage — but for a drain that keeps blocking, it's the best way to find the actual cause (roots, a collapse, grease) so we can fix it properly rather than clearing it again and again.
Why does my drain keep blocking?
Recurring blockages almost always have an underlying cause — tree roots growing into the pipe, a collapsed or misaligned section, or heavy grease and debris build-up. A CCTV inspection pinpoints which it is, so the fix actually stops it coming back.
Can tree roots really block a drain?
Yes — they're one of the most common causes. Roots seek out moisture and work their way into tiny pipe joints, then grow and trap everything that passes. We clear them and, with CCTV, show you where they're getting in so it can be dealt with.
What shouldn't I put down the drain?
The usual culprits are cooking fat and oil (which solidify), wet wipes and sanitary products (which don't break down), coffee grounds, and food scraps. Keeping these out of the drain prevents a lot of blockages.
Is a backed-up sewer an emergency?
Yes. Sewage backing up into the house is both a health hazard and a damage risk, so we treat it as a 24/7 emergency. Call us straight away and avoid using water fixtures until we arrive.
