Brighton. Bayside renovation — main and ensuite bathrooms.
A bayside renovation in Brighton brought the studio in to deliver both the main and ensuite bathroom tile and waterproofing. The brief: large-format porcelain, soft neutral palette, and a finish that matched the rest of the renovation's quiet luxury feel.
Substrate prep on this one was non-trivial — the existing slab had been poured at slightly different levels between the two rooms, so the screed had to bring everything to a consistent fall before tile could go down. The membrane was detailed to AS 3740 with reinforcing tape at every internal corner and a continuous return onto the floor-waste.
For the wall tile we ran 800x800 large-format porcelain in a stack-bond layout to keep the joint lines clean and emphasise the format. Floors are a complementary 600x600 porcelain in a subtle texture for slip rating. Niches and feature shelves are pre-formed and rendered before tile, with mitred external corners on the niche openings.
Handover was completed inside the agreed timeline, with a written workmanship warranty covering tile, grout, silicone and the integrated waterproofing.
