Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Good Call's carpet cleaning, pest management and upholstery services.

How do I prepare for a pest treatment?

Clean and declutter your home and yard, vacuum and clean floors, pick up pet bowls, toys and beds, cover or put away children's items, relocate your pet for the duration and up to 3 hours after the treatment, take clothes off the line, and let Peter know where you have seen the pest activity.

How shall I prepare for the carpet and upholstery cleaner?

If the carpet or upholstery is very dusty or if you have pets, run a dry vacuum over the carpet or upholstery before Peter arrives to ensure the cleaning process is more effective. Peter can then focus on a deep thorough clean.

How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

Carpets typically take 3–5 hours to dry depending on weather. On warm days it can dry very fast; on cold or humid days it can take longer. Turning on fans or air conditioning helps speed up the drying process.

Can you remove the stains on my carpet or upholstery?

Peter will certainly try. Success depends on the type of stain, the carpet or upholstery fibre, how old the stain is and whether it has been previously treated. Letting Peter know about stains at enquiry time helps him prepare with specialised stain treatment.

What sort of information do I need to provide when I call?

Peter needs to know which rooms of carpet need cleaning or descriptions of the upholstery that need cleaning and if there are any stains. You can text photos to 0432 711 145. He also needs to know if there is a dedicated parking space for his van.

What type of carpet cleaning is most effective?

Steam cleaning (hot water extraction) penetrates deep into carpet fibres, breaking down dirt, allergens and stubborn stains. Peter uses this method — it's the most thorough option for a deep, sanitising clean.

What is end of lease carpet cleaning?

End of lease carpet cleaning — also known as move-out, bond or exit carpet cleaning — is a comprehensive deep clean of all carpeted areas to restore them to their original state. Many landlords require this as part of the lease agreement. Peter specialises in this service.

How often should carpet be cleaned?

Experts recommend professional carpet cleaning every 12 months for typical households. Homes with pets, allergies or high traffic may benefit from cleaning every 6–12 months.

Is an upholstery cleaner worth it?

Professional upholstery cleaning removes deeply embedded dirt, allergens and bacteria that DIY methods can't reach, restoring appearance and extending the life of your furniture. It also contributes to a healthier indoor environment.

Are pest control chemicals safe?

Peter uses chemicals designed for safe residential use when applied correctly, following strict protocols to minimise risk. Your family and pets should vacate during treatment and for up to 3 hours afterwards.

Do your pest treatments come with a warranty?

Yes. Peter's pest treatments include a warranty. If you experience a recurrence within the warranty period, Peter will revisit and treat the area again.

What areas do you service?

Peter services Redlands, Cleveland, Brisbane, North Lakes, Coomera, Springfield and surrounding Greater Brisbane areas.
