Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our electrical, air conditioning and solar services.

General

Are you licensed to do electrical work in Queensland?

Yes. We hold a QBCC electrical contractor licence (#87789) as required by Queensland law. All electrical work is performed by or under the direct supervision of a licensed electrician. We also hold ARC Tick certification (L146631/AU57113) for refrigerant handling.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency electrical service?

Yes. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for genuine electrical emergencies across Brisbane. Call 0468 813 833 any time.

What areas do you service?

We are based in Bulimba and service all of Brisbane's inner suburbs, including Bowen Hills, Brisbane City, East Brisbane, Fortitude Valley, New Farm, West End, Kangaroo Point, Newstead, South Brisbane, Teneriffe, Woolloongabba and surrounding areas. If you're unsure, just call us.

How do I get a quote?

Call us on 0468 813 833 or use the contact form on our website. We provide free, no-obligation quotes. For straightforward jobs we can often quote over the phone; for more complex work we'll arrange a site visit.

Do you provide a certificate of compliance for electrical work?

Yes. All notifiable electrical work in Queensland requires a Certificate of Testing and Compliance (COTR), which we provide at job completion. This document is required for insurance claims and real estate transactions.

Do I need to be home during the work?

For most jobs, someone needs to be present to provide access and sign off on completed work. We're flexible with timing and work efficiently to minimise disruption to your day.

Pricing

How much does an electrician cost in Brisbane?

Costs vary by job type and complexity. Simple jobs like installing a power point or light fitting are relatively low cost; larger jobs like switchboard upgrades or solar installations require a detailed quote. We always provide a clear quote before starting work.

Are your quotes free?

Yes — we provide free, no-obligation quotes for all work. For most jobs we can quote over the phone or via the contact form. We don't charge a call-out fee just to give you a price.

Do you charge extra for weekend or after-hours work?

Emergency after-hours and weekend callouts may attract a surcharge. We'll always advise of any additional charges before proceeding, so there are no surprises.

Air Conditioning

What brands of air conditioning do you install and service?

We work with all major brands including Daikin, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Actron and more. We'll recommend the best brand for your budget and application.

How often should I service my air conditioner?

We recommend an annual service for residential systems and more frequent servicing (every 6 months) for heavily used commercial systems. Regular servicing maintains efficiency, extends lifespan and prevents costly breakdowns.

Smoke Alarms

What are the Queensland smoke alarm requirements?

Since 2022, all properties being sold or leased must have photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms installed in every bedroom, hallways and on every storey. All properties in Queensland must be fully compliant by 2027. Older battery-only or ionisation alarms no longer meet Queensland's requirements.

Do landlords need to upgrade smoke alarms before tenants move in?

Yes. Queensland law requires landlords to install compliant photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms before any new or renewed lease. Failure to comply can result in significant penalties. We can inspect and upgrade your rental property quickly and cost-effectively.

Solar

Do solar rebates still apply in Queensland?

Yes. Federal government STC (Small-scale Technology Certificate) rebates reduce the upfront cost of solar installations. The rebate amount depends on your system size, location and the current market price for STCs. We calculate your applicable rebate as part of every solar quote.

How long does a solar system take to pay for itself?

Most Brisbane residential solar systems pay back their cost in 4–7 years, depending on system size, energy usage and tariff. After that, the electricity savings are essentially free money for the remaining 20+ year lifespan of the panels.
