General
Which areas of Brisbane do you service?
We are based in Hawthorne and work with homeowners across Brisbane, including Bulimba, Milton, Clayfield, Greenslopes, East Brisbane, Bridgeman Downs, Norman Park, Coorparoo, New Farm, Ascot, Hamilton and the surrounding inner-city and eastern suburbs. If your suburb is not listed, please get in touch — we are always happy to discuss your project and let you know how we can help.
How do I get started with a project?
The first step is an on-site consultation. Brendan meets you at your property to discuss your vision, lifestyle and budget, and to gather the information needed to prepare your project design brief. You can request a consultation by calling 0421 166 669 or sending an enquiry through our contact page. From there we will guide you through the design and, if you choose, the construction of your outdoor space.
How does your pricing work?
Because every outdoor space is different, we prepare pricing tailored to your specific project rather than working from a fixed price list. After the initial consultation we provide a clear fee proposal for the design, and design and budget plans for any construction. We will always explain how pricing is structured before you commit, so you have a transparent picture from the start.
How much experience does the team have?
Brisbane Landscaping Co. has over 15 years of experience in the landscaping industry. Owner Brendan, alongside his highly qualified team, has designed and constructed bespoke outdoor spaces across Brisbane and the business has been multi award-winning, including being a 6x Best of Houzz winner and featured in Inside Out magazine. That depth of experience is reflected in the quality and attention to detail of every project.
What makes Brisbane Landscaping Co. different?
We are a boutique, design-focused company, which means a hands-on, personal service rather than a high-volume operation. Brendan personally selects every tree and plant and is involved from concept through to construction. We are selective about who we involve in our clients' projects and focus on cohesive, high-quality outdoor spaces that enhance your lifestyle and add lasting value to your home.
Do you only work on large projects?
Not at all. We work on a range of residential projects, from courtyards and smaller garden spaces through to large blocks and full backyard transformations. Whether your space is compact or expansive, the same considered design process applies. The on-site consultation is the best place to discuss your project, whatever its size, and find out how we can help.
Landscape Design
How does the landscape design process start?
Every project begins with an on-site consultation. Brendan meets you at your property to discuss your vision, your lifestyle, how you want to use the space and your budget. He brings over 15 years of experience and a seasoned set of eyes to offer creative insight on the day. From that conversation we prepare a project design brief that outlines the key features and direction for your outdoor space, so you have a clear starting point before any design work begins.
Do you provide 3D renders or visuals of the design?
Yes. Once the design brief is accepted, we prepare an outdoor design concept so you can envision the full scope of your project before anything is built. This typically includes schematic designs of major features such as walls, pools, structures, water features and surfaces. We often use realistic 3D imaging and professional documentation so every aspect of your design is understood and you can make confident decisions early.
How much does a landscape design cost?
Design pricing depends on the size of your block, the complexity of the site and the level of documentation you need. After the initial on-site consultation we prepare a fee proposal tailored to your specific project, so you know exactly what is included before you commit. We will always talk you through how the design fee is structured so there are no surprises — the consultation is the right place to get an accurate picture for your property.
What areas of Brisbane do you design landscapes for?
We are based in Hawthorne and design bespoke outdoor spaces for homes across Brisbane, including Bulimba, Milton, Clayfield, Greenslopes, East Brisbane, Bridgeman Downs and the surrounding inner-city and eastern suburbs. If you are unsure whether your suburb is covered, get in touch — we are happy to discuss your project and let you know how we can help.
Can you design a landscape for a sloped or difficult block?
Yes. Sloped, narrow and challenging blocks are some of the most rewarding projects we take on. An experienced designer can turn site constraints into features — using retaining walls, terracing and considered levels to create usable, beautiful spaces. We assess the specific conditions of your block during the consultation and design a solution that works with the site rather than against it.
Will the design suit the style of my home?
Absolutely. We strongly believe landscape design should pay homage to the style of your home to maximise the value of your property. Our aim is to create cohesive, functional spaces that feel like a natural extension of your house, using innovative design, high-quality materials and sustainable practices. The design is always tailored to your home, your lifestyle and your needs — never a template.
How long does the design stage take?
The timeline depends on the scale of your project and the level of detail required, but we always work to a clear, agreed schedule. After the consultation we let you know how long the concept and documentation stages will take so you can plan ahead. Clients regularly tell us our designs are delivered in a timely, professional manner — keeping the project moving is something we take seriously.
Landscape Construction
Do you build the landscapes you design?
Yes. Brisbane Landscaping Co. offers a complete design-and-construction service, so the team that designed your space is involved through to completion. Our construction philosophy is built on meticulous planning and attention to detail to turn your vision into reality. Brendan personally oversees the project, hand-selecting every tree and plant and coordinating the trades involved so the finished result matches the design intent.
Can I engage you for construction only, or just design?
We are happy to discuss whichever level of involvement suits your project. Many clients engage us for the full journey from concept to construction, while others come to us for design or construction at a particular stage. The best way to work out the right fit is the on-site consultation, where we can understand where your project is up to and how we can add the most value.
How do you manage the construction process?
Our team ensures attention to detail and added value through careful project oversight. We coordinate with contractors and adhere to the agreed design and budget plans, keeping the project on track at every stage. We are also very selective about who we involve in our clients' projects, so the standard of workmanship stays consistent from start to finish.
Will my project stay on budget?
Budget is part of the conversation from the very first consultation. We prepare design and budget plans up front and manage the project against them, coordinating trades and materials to keep things on track. Clients frequently tell us their projects were completed within budget and on schedule — clear planning early is what makes that possible.
How long does a landscape construction project take?
Every project is different — a courtyard refresh and a full backyard transformation have very different timelines. Once the design is finalised we provide a realistic construction schedule so you know what to expect. We then manage the works to that timeline, keeping you informed as the project progresses.
What does landscape construction include?
Construction can include retaining and feature walls, paving and surfaces, decking and structures, planting, turf, irrigation, lighting, pools and water features — whatever your design calls for. Brendan hand-selects every tree and plant to ensure your project is completed to the finest detail. The exact scope is defined in your design and documentation so everyone is clear on what is being built.
Do you coordinate with my builder or other trades?
Yes. We regularly work alongside builders, architects and other designers, and clients tell us the collaboration is seamless. Careful coordination is a core part of our project oversight — we make sure the landscaping integrates properly with the rest of your build so the end result is cohesive.
Pool Design & Surrounds
Do you design pools and pool surrounds?
Yes. Pool design and surrounds is one of our core services. Brisbane's outdoor lifestyle thrives on cohesive design, so rather than treating a pool as a separate element we integrate it into the wider landscape. By designing the pool and the surrounding garden, paving and structures together, we create functional, balanced sanctuaries that feel like a natural part of your home.
Can you landscape around an existing pool?
Yes. If you already have a pool, we can design and build surrounds that transform how it looks and how you use it — paving, planting, screening, structures and lighting that tie the pool back into the rest of your garden. We assess the existing pool and the space around it during the consultation and design a solution that brings the whole area together.
How does pool and landscape design work together?
Designing the pool and landscape as one project means the levels, materials, sightlines and planting all work in harmony. It avoids the disjointed look of a pool that feels bolted on. Our aim is a cohesive outdoor space where the pool, paving, gardens and structures complement each other and the style of your home — a true outdoor sanctuary rather than a collection of separate elements.
How much does a pool landscape design cost?
Cost depends on the size and complexity of the pool area, the materials chosen and how much surrounding landscaping is involved. After an on-site consultation we prepare a tailored fee proposal so you can see exactly what is included. We will always explain how the pricing is structured before you commit, so you can make decisions with a clear picture.
Do you provide visuals for pool projects?
Yes. As with all our design work, we prepare a concept that lets you envision the full scope of the project before construction begins. For pool projects this often includes schematic designs and realistic 3D imaging of the pool, surrounds and structures, so you can see how the finished space will look and feel and make confident choices early.
Which Brisbane suburbs do you design pool landscapes for?
We design and build pool landscapes for homes across Brisbane from our base in Hawthorne, including Bulimba, Milton, Clayfield, East Brisbane, Greenslopes and the surrounding suburbs. If you would like to know whether we can help with your pool project, get in touch and we will talk you through the options for your property.
