Everything Brisbane customers ask us about electrical work, air conditioning and EV charging — and how Bright Energy Services does business.

General Questions

What suburbs does Bright Energy Services cover?
We are based in Hamilton and service Brisbane and surrounds, including Ascot, Clayfield, Hendra, Teneriffe, New Farm, Woolloongabba, Kangaroo Point, Coorparoo, Carindale, East Brisbane, Camp Hill, Morningside and Norman Park. If you are nearby but your suburb is not listed here, do not assume we cannot help — get in touch and we will let you know whether you fall within our service area and arrange a time that works for you.
Are you licensed and insured?
Bright Energy Services holds Electrical Contractors Licence 88462 and ARC Licence L171497, and is an accredited Master Electrician business. All work is completed by qualified electricians and backed by our money-back and lifetime workmanship guarantee, so you can be confident the job is done to a proper standard. If you would like us to confirm our licensing details before you book a job, simply ask the team and we will gladly provide them.
How does pricing work?
We look at each job individually and, for most work, provide a clear quote up front so you know exactly what to expect before anything starts. We will also take the time to explain what is included so there are no grey areas. Get in touch with a description of what you need, whether it is a small repair or a larger project, and we will talk you through how the pricing works for your particular job.
What services do you offer?
We are electrical and air conditioning specialists serving Brisbane homes and businesses. That covers general and emergency electrical work, switchboard upgrades, lighting design and LED upgrades, safety switches and smoke alarms, air conditioning supply, installation and servicing, and Ocular electric vehicle charger installation. If the particular service you need is not listed, contact us anyway and we will work out how to help — and if it is something we cannot do, we will point you in the right direction.
Do you offer a guarantee on your work?
Yes. We pride ourselves on our work and offer a money-back and lifetime workmanship guarantee on all of our jobs. If something we have installed is not performing the way it should, you do not need to worry — simply contact the team and we will arrange to come back out and put it right. Standing behind our work is a core part of how Bright Energy Services does business.
How quickly can you help?
Timeframes depend on the type of job and how busy we are at the time, and we also handle emergency callouts when something cannot wait. When you contact us, let us know if your job is urgent and we will do our best to prioritise it and respond quickly. For planned work such as installations, servicing or upgrades, we will book a time that suits you when we provide your quote.
How do I get a quote or book a job?
Call the team or send an enquiry through this website with a few details about what you need done. We will get back to you to discuss the job, arrange a quote where one is needed, and book a time that works around your schedule. The more detail you can give us up front about the problem or project, the faster and more accurately we can help you.

Electrical

Do you cover my suburb for electrical work?
Bright Energy Services is based in Hamilton and works right across the inner-northern and inner-eastern Brisbane suburbs, including Ascot, Clayfield, Hendra, Teneriffe, New Farm, Coorparoo, Camp Hill, Morningside and Norman Park. If you are nearby and not sure whether you fall within our usual service area, give the team a call or send a message through the website. We will let you know straight away whether we can help and, if so, arrange a time that suits you.
How does pricing work for electrical jobs?
Every electrical job is a little different, so we look at what you actually need before we quote rather than giving a one-size-fits-all figure. For most work we will give you a clear quote up front so there are no surprises, and we will always talk you through what is and is not included before anything starts. Reach out with a description of the problem or the project you have in mind and we will explain how the pricing works for your particular situation.
Are you a licensed electrician?
Yes. Bright Energy Services holds Electrical Contractors Licence 88462 and is an accredited Master Electrician business. Every job is carried out by qualified electricians, and we back our work with a money-back and lifetime workmanship guarantee, so you can be confident the job is done properly and safely. If you would ever like to confirm our licensing details before booking a job, just ask the team and we are happy to provide them for you.
Can you help with safety switches and smoke alarms?
Absolutely. Safety switches, hard-wired smoke alarms and smoke alarm compliance are core parts of what we do, along with full electrical safety inspections. If you are moving into a home, renovating, or simply want peace of mind that your family is protected, we can check your switchboard, wiring and alarms. We will then let you know clearly what, if anything, needs upgrading to keep your home safe and meeting current standards, with no pressure to do more than you need.
Do you do switchboard upgrades and rewires?
Yes. We handle switchboard upgrades, circuit capacity upgrades and full or partial rewires for older Brisbane homes. Many homes have switchboards that were never built for modern appliances and air conditioning loads, which can cause nuisance tripping or genuine safety concerns. We can assess your board, explain clearly whether an upgrade is worthwhile for your situation, and carry out the work tidily with as little disruption to your day as possible while keeping you informed throughout.
Can you install lighting and ceiling fans?
We do a great deal of lighting work, from LED lighting upgrades and pendant light installation through to outdoor, garden and pool lighting, as well as ceiling fan installation. If you are after a particular look, want to make a room more comfortable, or are trying to bring your energy use down, tell us what you have in mind. We will recommend an approach that suits the space, the way you use it and your budget.
What happens if something goes wrong after the job?
We stand behind our work with a lifetime workmanship guarantee, so if anything we have installed is not performing the way it should, we will come back and put it right. Good communication matters to us just as much as good workmanship, so if you have a concern after a job is finished, simply contact the team. We will arrange a time to take another look and make sure you are happy with the result.
How do I book an electrician?
The easiest way is to call the team or send an enquiry through this website with a few details about what you need done. We will get back to you to talk through the job, arrange a quote where one is needed, and book a time that works around your schedule. For urgent electrical problems, let us know it is urgent when you first get in touch so we can prioritise your job and respond as quickly as we can.

Air Conditioning

Which areas do you service for air conditioning?
We install, service and maintain air conditioning right across our Brisbane service area from our Hamilton base, covering suburbs such as Ascot, Clayfield, Hendra, New Farm, Coorparoo, Carindale, Camp Hill and Morningside. If you are in or near these areas and want a new system, a replacement or a clean and service, get in touch with the team. We will confirm we can help, answer any questions you have and arrange a suitable time to come out.
How much does air conditioning installation cost?
The cost of an installation depends on the type of system you choose, the size of the area you want to cool or heat, and the layout of your home. Rather than guess at a figure, we prefer to understand what you are after first and then give you a clear, written quote. Contact the team with details about the rooms you want comfortable year round and we will explain your options and exactly how the pricing works.
What is included in an air conditioner clean and service?
Our pre-summer split system clean includes a full operation check, removal of mould and bad odours, the use of non-toxic cleaning products, a thorough sanitise of the unit, flushing the condensate drain and checking its flow, and a written system operation report. After a service your unit runs more efficiently, draws less energy, and helps improve the air quality inside your home, which makes a real difference through the warmer Brisbane months.
How often should I have my air conditioner serviced?
We recommend a deep clean on your air conditioner every twelve months to keep it running efficiently and to extend its working life. Regular servicing helps catch small issues before they turn into expensive repairs, keeps your energy use down, and stops mould and unpleasant odours building up inside the unit. When we service your system we can also let you know a sensible schedule based on how old it is and how often you run it.
Do you work on all air conditioning brands?
Yes. We supply and work with all air conditioning brands and types, and we can clean and maintain units regardless of who originally installed them. Whether you have a wall-mounted split system or a whole-home ducted setup, tell us the brand and model if you happen to know it and we will let you know how we can help. If you are not sure, we can identify it for you when we visit.
Can you install or replace ducted air conditioning?
We carry out both ducted air conditioning installation and replacement, as well as split system installs and replacements. If your existing ducted system is ageing, noisy, or no longer cooling the way it once did, we can assess it on site and talk through whether a repair or a full replacement makes more sense for your home and the way you use it. Either way we will explain your options clearly before you decide.
My air conditioner is leaking or smells bad — can you help?
Yes. Leaks, bad odours, poor cooling and unusually high running costs are all common signs that a unit needs attention. These problems often point to a build-up of mould and grime inside the unit or a blocked condensate drain. Book a split system clean and service and we will get the unit operating properly again, or let you know honestly if something more substantial needs doing before the warmer weather sets in.
How do I book an air conditioning service?
Call the team or send a message through this website with the type of system you have and what you would like done, whether that is a brand new install, a replacement of an old unit, or a clean and service. We will get back to you, answer any questions you have about the work, and book in a time that suits you. If your system has stopped working entirely, let us know so we can prioritise it.

EV Charging

Do you install EV chargers in my area?
Yes. Bright Energy Services installs electric vehicle chargers right across our Brisbane service area from our Hamilton base, including Ascot, Clayfield, New Farm, Teneriffe, Coorparoo and the surrounding suburbs. If you are nearby and considering a home charger, get in touch with the team. We will confirm we can help, talk through what is involved in adding a charger at your property, and arrange a time to assess your home and get you a quote.
What EV chargers do you supply?
We are a certified installer and dealer of Ocular electric car charging solutions. Ocular chargers are designed around simple, straightforward charging, with LCD screens standard across the range and options for networking capability where you want it. They are compatible with all electric vehicles, so whatever you drive, we can recommend a unit that suits your home, your driving habits and the way you like to charge. We will walk you through the range so the choice is clear.
How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
Installation cost depends on your switchboard, the distance from the board to where you want the charger mounted, and whether any electrical upgrades are needed first to support the extra load. Rather than quote blind, we will assess your home, explain exactly what is involved and give you a clear quote before any work begins. Contact the team to arrange an assessment and we will take you through your options and the pricing in plain language.
Can my home electrical system handle an EV charger?
In most cases yes, but it does depend on your switchboard capacity and your existing electrical load. As accredited electricians we will always check your board and wiring first and let you know honestly whether any upgrades are needed to add a charger safely. This assessment is an important part of how we make sure your installation is done properly the first time, so you can charge with confidence and without overloading your home.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Many home charger installations are completed in a single visit once the initial assessment is done and the right unit has been selected. The exact time depends on your home and whether any switchboard or wiring work is needed beforehand to support the charger. We will give you a realistic timeframe when we provide your quote, so you know what to expect and can plan around the installation without any guesswork.
Is the EV charger compatible with my electric vehicle?
Ocular chargers are designed to be compatible with all electric vehicles, so you are not locked in to a particular make or model and you will not be caught out if you change cars down the track. If you are unsure about your specific vehicle, let us know which one you drive when you get in touch. We will confirm the right charger and connector for your situation so everything works smoothly from day one.
Do you only install chargers, or can you advise as well?
Both. As a certified Ocular installer and dealer we can talk you through the full range, explain the difference between the models and the networking options, and recommend what genuinely fits your home and charging habits rather than simply selling you the most expensive unit. With Bright Energy Services, charging has never been more accessible — get in touch with the team and we will help you get set up properly.
How do I get started with a home EV charger?
Reach out by phone or through this website and let us know you are interested in a home EV charger. We will arrange a convenient time to assess your home, recommend the right Ocular unit for your vehicle and your needs, quote the installation clearly with no surprises, and then book the work in once you are happy to go ahead. From first call to first charge, we keep the process simple.
